Suzuki is currently revamping it’s product line-up in face of changing markets. With Japanese youth shying away from cars in general and it recently pulling out all of its automobile products from North America, it turns to the market that everyone’s looking at right now – China.
The Suzuki Authentics Concept makes its world debut at Auto Shanghai 2013, and it is a preview of an upcoming C-segment sedan, targeted squarely at the category of cars that’s one of the most lucrative in China. It will have to go head to head against the likes of the Ford Escort, Citroen C4L, and Volkswagen Lavida when it comes out by the end of 2014.
The production version of the Suzuki Authentics will be built and distributed in China by Suzuki’s JV company Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co. It does look good in concept form, however from experience we all know how much of a concept Suzuki goes into a production car – just look at the trio of Suzuki Kizashi Concepts that were showcased before the production car was unveiled – there’s a really massive difference!

Unlike the three Kizashi Concepts, I have a strong feeling this Authentics is pretty much production ready. Perhaps when it enters production it’ll gain different bumpers, head and tail lights, while gaining door handles, wing mirrors. Those chrome trims on the doors will be toned down, if not removed altogether.
yes actually the production prototype is ready here in india and all the car loses over the concept is the flashy paint,a few creases and chrome, albeit the grille is the same, so are the lights and the windowline. it has been codenamed YL1 and will replace the sx4 sedan in india and may be launched in thailand and china, too
If the production car looks absolutely like this concept, then easily it will be the most class-iest sedan in C-Segment, or maybe best looking. The curve line blend nicely and with suitable amount of chrome, it just looks like entry level luxury sedan.
The rear reminds me a fusion of Lexus GS,Preve and Honda City
If the concept become reality for sure I will buy.
Suzuki known as great handling with good feedback from Swift/Sport and Kizashi I’ve greater feeling this car will be awesome
definitely looks better than kizashi. hope it starts production soon
Two-thumbs up effort from Suzuki! Design-wise,it simply one of the best looking Japanese sedan alongside Mazda 6. And if Suzuki continues the good handling traits from the previous model, coupled with better interior quality and engine line up, this car certainly has the potential to mount a strong challenge to the bests in C-segment class namely Ford Mondeo, Peugeot 508 and Mazda 6.Can’t wait to see the production version.
Well, the models u mentioned are fall under D-segment…
Only mazda done well with their kodo and takeri concept!
