Just a few days shy of its official debut on October 25, leaked photos of the BMW 2-Series Coupe have made their way onto the Internet. The car here is the M235i Coupe in red, which looks similiar to the car teased in the video earlier this week. The event looks like a dealer preview.
The M235i will use a version of BMW’s N55 single turbo 3.0 litre inline-six doing 322 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The car will be the 2-Series Coupe range topper for the moment, while we wait to see if the 1 M Coupe gets a successor in the form of an M2 Coupe.
Other than the obvious addition of a proper boot, the car is further differentiated from the 1-Series hatchback with a completely new front end which gets rid of the One’s droopy face.
We also notice that the M235i badging on the rear uses a completely different font compared to what BMW normally uses – this different font was also applied to the M135i, M550d, and other M Performance cars.

Nice face… poor butt…
3/4’s butt a lot nicer….
Agree.. very good front.. poor butt, abit like polo’s butt
Though this is a beautiful car, BMW has still not addressed people’s main concern – the warranty. In Malaysia, they are ONLY giving a mere 2 years warranty whilst nearly ALL other car brands are now giving 5 years. Even BMW’s direct competitor, Mercedes, is giving 4 years warranty.
Malaysia mask it by making it seem its 3 years but that is actually the free service. 3 years or 60,000KM. So people are misled thinking its 3 years. But the real warranty is only a mere 2 years.
Even Proton and Perodua are so sure of their products and their quality that they are giving 5 years. BMW Malaysia is the ONLY car company not just in Malaysia but in the world that is giving a mere 2 years warranty. It shows they have no confidence in their own products.
No point launching so many models when your existing model line up, they don’t give peace of mind to the customer. Oh btw, one can finish 60,000 KM in less than 2 years easily so, even the free service last 2 years.
Be warned that after 2 years, your gearbox will probably fail. Many BMW owners have to spend RM80k just to replace their gearbox.
So anyone can advice me which brand of car manufacturer is the best choice in term of liable/less problem/good in 2nd hand value?
Mercedes, audi, or bmw ?
My family has bad experience with merc E class. 6 year old now, Changed computer once, few time unusual warning, worse case is no brake and throttle when driving. changed fuel pump for few K, Now replace it to 2014 bmw f10, hope it is better
RM80k for a gearbox??? Where did you hear this?? A friend of mine just changed his gearbox which failed after 7 years, and it costs him around RM12k.
Agree too. Front loses the >< face of the 1 series, which is good. but the back? It looks like they used back a similar design as the F10 rear lights, but instead of 3 light bars in the F10, they are using 2 slim light bars…. boomerang lights!
With such performance, I think the butt should be a lot nicer, because more people will be looking at the butt as you zoom pass haha.
Agreed. But God, I love this car.
Nice car. hey I’m the first and pls gimme a a like ‘ thumbs up ‘ if u love me thx.
burn in hell please
If u love me? LOL… u made me laugh… some more you are expecting to be the first while you are not. Hahaha… crazy fella…
If they make a 4 door version of this, people will buy this instead of the 3 series.
There is a 4 door version, it is the 1 series but it is missing a proper butt.
Wait for the gran coupe version then.
Yuck!
if & only if the all new 1 series got facelift like this 2 series…sadlife
how merc to answer this?
Merc has alrdy gave an answer to them. Its the CLA class. Which will be arriving in Malaysia soon I think.
The legendary 2002 reborn in the shape of the 2- Series?
the butt look like proton saga butt
The rear… OMG the rear… As ugly as Miley cyrus’ butt… It looks like a Saga or Polo sedan… How could the BMW designers actually agree on a butt like that??
Expected entry model – the 225i with ~RM300k pricetag?
All this while their marketing team has been justified their price higher from 1 series to the others. so it should be some where in between the current 125i(Rm240k) and 328i(300K), though not much left within the gap.
WHAT I CAN SAY..THIS ONE LOOK SO CUTE BUT THAT REAR END DOESNT SUITS WELL WITH THAT TAIL LAMP..BUT LADIES WILL PREFER TO THESE CAR
boring..BMW got way TOO many models..
