Volvo Concept XC Coupe previews future SUV styling

137066_1_5

This is the second concept that showcases Volvo’s future design language. The Volvo Concept XC Coupe has a clear family resemblance to its Volvo Concept Coupe sibling, but in a crossover body form with more accentuated wheel arches, a taller roofline, and large 21-inch wheels. It made its public debut at the ongoing Detroit show.

Although it’s a two-door, four-seater crossover, the next Volvo SUV that’s due for replacement is the flagship XC90, so this could be a design preview of how the next-generation XC90 could look like. This design will have to be scaled up of course, since the XC90 is a four-door, three-row family SUV.

Front end looks a bit iffy for me.
    Back end looks reasonable.
Would rather like them to continue with current design language; as seen on the V40 and S60 specifically.

    What Volvo needs:
    1. Range topping, efficient engines for each model to contest the M,AMG and RSes, just build a 400+HP car that does 0-100 in under 5s, please.
    2. Double clutch 8 speed gearboxes
    3. Better interior design to make owners feel more special, they need more gimmicky stuff instead of the boring, functional one now.
    4. Adjustable chassis and dampers etc. and different driving modes

Achieve this and Volvo will sell much much more. Volvos have always been good looking with quality ride and materials, they just need some flair
