Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has been formed through a joint venture between the current official dealers of the two brands here, Sisma Auto and Sime Darby Motors respectively. The new company is now the exclusive importer of both marques in the country, and will appoint Sime Darby Auto ConneXion and Sisma Auto as dual-brand Jaguar Land Rover super dealers across Malaysia.
“Jaguar Land Rover has delivered its strongest ever full year global sales performance in 2013. Similarly, 2013 was also a landmark year for both brands in Malaysia, with Jaguar posting its highest ever sales, more than doubling sales versus the previous year and Land Rover surpassing the 1,000 unit mark. Joint local representation of these complementary brands helps optimise local operations,” said Russell Anderson, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover, Asia Pacific Importers.
In the short term, existing Jaguar and Land Rover facilities (Petaling Jaya and Jalan Ipoh Land Rover centres and Jaguar Glenmarie Service Centre) will be upgraded to represent both brands. Sisma Auto, which acquired a 40% share in Sime Darby Motors’ Land Rover Malaysia, also plans to open a new Jaguar Land Rover Kuala Lumpur City Centre showcase showroom in Menara Worldwide, on Jalan Raja Chulan.
Going forward, plans are in the pipeline for purpose-built, state-of-the-art, dual-brand Jaguar Land Rover Centres in major cities across Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Penang.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Finally some movement to open more centres up north and down south. I hope their roadside assistance is of any good. What about the east coast?
About time, it was rather stupid to have two different people representing brands from the same company. In a way, hopefully Jaguar will get some better marketing (normally Sime is good as marketing) cause I think they make good cars.
Also, at least parts management will be better la, since many Land Rover models share parts with Jaguar models too.
So now, in this case, would it mean that a Land Rover owner can drive into the Jaguar dealer for warranty service, and vice versa? If yes, then probably that would make more sense cause then they can balance out each other. Just make sure the Sisma Auto centres are nice, a lot of people said it is worse than a Proton service centre with no waiting area etc (not sure how far true though).
most of jaguar customers send the drivers to bring the car for service or repair. and most of the times they are picked up by other drivers.
jaguar owners normally have several cars, unlike ppl who drive vios or persona.
‘a lot of people said’? How many is ‘a lot?’..bunch of liars.
bad move, customers from jaguar and range rover will buy Toyota in the future. Because toyota has better after sales service, high RV, and of cause, safer and better quality that both RR and Jag.
say laa you can’t afford a landie or a jag, at least readers will not thumb you down.
So far very.good comments…lets hope the beans wont come in and spoil the peaceful envitonment…
Any such dealers to be opened in Sabah??
Choices in east Msia are very limited, with no representation from jaguar, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari.
I thought Sabah got a lot of Land Rover dealers? I thought got in KK, Tawau and Sandakan?
I know Jaguar don’t have la. Jag is only in Glenmarie.
Land Rover and Ford are under the same distributor, Sime Darby Auto Connexion in Sabah and they share the same 3S centre.
Many Sabahan choose BMWs nowaday. My uncle owned a BMW Z4 and a X6 in Sandakan. Both of them are brand new.Land Rover is not common here unless the Evoque that can be seen every where.
Many? Em… I doubt it…
i don like ckd cars…but starting a ckd plant would be a good idea to get customers into these cars
Hope the price is right and reasonable later.
