The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is aiming to have five 1JPJ mobile counters operating in each state for the convenience of those living outside urban areas, Bernama reports.
At present, each state has only one mobile counter operating within it, and as such, their reach is limited to select areas only, according to JPJ deputy chief director Datuk Yusof Ayob.
Introduced in 2010, 1JPJ mobile counters offer services such as driving licence and road tax renewal, black-list checks, summons payment and change of address. As of March 2014, there are 15 counters nationwide.
