NPE road closure, traffic diversion for Sunway BRT

NPE Road Closure

Users of the New Pantai Expressway (NPE), take note. Prasarana has announced road closures and traffic diversions at KM 2.7 of the highway from 12 midnight until 8 am on February 1, this Sunday.

Involving both directions, the temporary closure is to facilitate launching works for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) – Sunway Line Project. The work will involve heavy machinery and lifting of materials.

Here are the alternative routes suggested by the authorities:

KL-bound traffic
KL-bound traffic will be diverted to enter Jalan PJS 8/9 after the Caltex petrol station, into Jalan PJS 8/4 and Jalan 8/5, re-enter NPE and moving into the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP)). Take the left turn into Jalan PJS 7/8 and move into Jalan PJS 7/13 to re-enter NPE and make a U-turn to KL.

Petaling Jaya bound traffic
PJ-bound traffic will also be diverted to enter Jalan PJS 8/9 after the Caltex petrol station and moving into Jalan PJS 8/8.

Subang Jaya bound traffic
Subang Jaya-bound traffic will be diverted to enter LDP after Shell petrol station on the left, leading into Bandar Sunway on Jalan PJS 9/1 and into Jalan Lagoon Selatan after the traffic light.

Shah Alam bound traffic
Shah Alam bound traffic will be diverted to enter LDP after Shell petrol station on the left, moving into Bandar Sunway on Jalan PJS 9/1 and into Jalan Lagoon Selatan after the traffic light. Turn right into Jalan PJS11/7 and continue towards Shah Alam.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and to adhere to warning signs during the construction period. Apart from road barriers to divert traffic, flagmen will be deployed and early warning signs will be displayed.

Selected roads in KL will also be closed from Feb 1 for the annual Nike We Run KL 2015 event and the Thaipusam chariot procession – full details here.

The BRT is a complete waste and will be a white elephant…the distant from Summit? To Federal Highway is simply too short, many bus going same route…its construction made traffic unbearable especially at Mentari PJS 8 traffic light a complete chaos, nobody directing traffic
