2015 Peugeot 308 officially teased, launching April

Peugeot Malaysia has officially teased the 2015 Peugeot 308 on its Facebook page – the 2014 European Car of the Year looks to be gearing up for its April launch. Not long now!

The handsome five-door hatch, enhanced by the mid-range, chrome-garnished front bumper and a tailgate spoiler, has been open for booking since last week, and we already have the indicative spec sheet. Seems only one variant will be offered, but it looks like the sole variant will have a lot to offer.

For starters, our car will have a 150 PS/240 Nm turbocharged 1.6 litre THP 150 four-cylinder engine (a variant of the THP 156 with redesigned turbo and pistons, plus a retuned ECU), a six-speed Tiptronic auto, six airbags, ESP, Dynamic Cruise Control, Emergency Collision Alert and Emergency Collision Braking, amongst others.

And we’re not done yet – you also stand to enjoy toys like 18-inch five twin-spoke alloys, LED head and fog lamps, keyless entry and start, electric seats with massage function, a panoramic roof, Arkamys sound via six speakers, auto dual-zone air-con and a massive 9.7-inch touch-screen!

Ads on oto.my reveal estimated prices around the RM130k ballpark, which seems like good value considering the wealth of kit on offer. Pearl White, Artense Grey, Mocha Brown, Rouge Red and Nera Black body colours will be available.

Not exactly the same as the old engine. Some of the mechanical was revised and updated. Should be named 309 instead of 308.

Just touch n felt it in Sg.
Good looks and premium feel on outside.
Inside, almost everything depends on the audio system. without it, this car is a shell. Seating position is good, but steering wheel n pedal feel is poor! Gearknob feel is not bad though.
Love the polish metal bits. So much nicer than chrome.
Moonroof is nice, and the cover is translucent, so it still feels bright inside during the day.
Rear boot is unusable. So small!

Good looks, turn heads, Feel cool. Mission accomplished.

Wow, looks brilliant in black! Reminds me of the 308s in France, and in the movie, Lucy.

There are more Porsches on the road compared to Citroen and Peugeot combined.

      Hahaha.. this stupid statement again?

Only this time instead of just Peugeot, now Peugeot and Citroen combined?

you ass-wipe, should heed my earlier advise.

Read auto sales monthly market reports published by motortrader website. For the month of Dec 2014 and Jan 2015, more peugeot were sold than vw, let alone porsche.

150 is plenty in a C segment car, and conventional? Ever seen a Toyota or Honda or Nissan?

Sorry to say but in spite having similar power figures with golf, 0-100 is about 1 sec slower compared to Golf. Probably the efficiency of the DSG in Golf but 308 uses a conventional gearbox, so its less prone to breakdown.

    • the point is newer car should be more powerful. not less power.

  • My advice, every time a new car launched wait at least 6-12 month before u buy it…wait for other ppl feedback, read all automotive forums or better join the car club and see whether any major issues with the car from other ppl…
i was saved from problematic 308 last time and decided to buy the 408 instead only after the well known depollution error problem on the 308 solved with the modified engine on the 408.
    Cheerz

never forget the new 308 has a weight 140kg lighter than previous generation in addition to the refined handling, aerodynamic drag coefficiency etc.. eventually it has more areas improved beside more power
