The production version Nissan Kicks has finally been unveiled on Instagram after a series of teasers. The final design stays pretty close to the concept last seen at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show, in Brazil.
Rather than sharing platforms with the Nissan Juke, the Kicks sits on the V platform, which also underpins the smaller Nissan March/Micra. No specifics have been released, but the Kicks could share the same dimensions as the concept, which was longer, wider and taller than the Juke.
In terms of design, the Kicks sports a noticeable orange roof matched to a grey body, while the pillars are finished in black, as the pictures – shot at the launch event in Rio de Janeiro – show.
Seeing that it shares the same platform as the March/Micra, theres a possibility that it will have a naturally-aspirated 1.6 litre four-cylinder engine that’s capable of 110 hp. Transmission-wise, the engine will likely be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox.
Initial production of the Kicks will come from Aguascalientes, Mexico. Later on, it will be produced in Resende, Brazil, where Nissan has invested a total of USD$210 million (RM822 million) to have it manufactured there. Production in Brazil is expected to commence in 2017.
As mentioned before, the Nissan Kicks will make its official world debut as the official car for the 2016 Olympic Games. After that, it will reportedly be offered in other countries apart from South America including Mexico and USA and could be priced lower than the Nissan Juke.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
It’s 2016 and still using reflector. So much for “innovation that excites”
lets kick some hrv butt? ^^
should’ve 1.8 or 2.0 engine to kick HRV butt… or at least a turbo..
I want the Juke here not this kicker!
Seems like the lady is more “KICK” than car!
Not excite the driver who crave for power but with just 1.6 NA price tag could be below 90k surely kick out some hrv sales.Design wise not as joke as juke, another Nissan model will hit road with pride again & keep Nissan alive.
Why 1.6L? Only for urban driving?
Nothing’s wrong with 1.6 only. Those Japanese & European no complain about it.As long it is durable, comfort for daily usage from A to B to C back to A for years.Malaysian was mislead by junkies that a vehicle should be perfectly for all kind of purposes with big mills on or off road, racing and over limit loadings.Even multi purpose vehicle MPV not suit for all purposes.
Juke looks better
Comes to Proton land becomes starting RM250k whereas elsewhere selling below RM80k
I thought Nissan Qashqai is already competing with HR-V??
