Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman get TechArt goodies

German tuner TechArt has unveiled its tuning package for the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman, which introduces styling and performance enhancements.

The latter sees a bump in power for both models in S guise, where the 2.5 litre turbocharged flat-four now outputs 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque. The extra 50 hp and 60 Nm help to reduce the 0-100 km/h sprint time to 3.9 seconds, which is certainly much faster than the standard car’s 4.2 seconds.

Additionally, the 0-200 km/h time is now 14.2 seconds, 0.5 seconds quicker than before, and the top speed also gets bumped up to 296 km/h from 285 km/h. The uprated engine also receives a new exhaust system with two titanium central pipes that feature carbon-fibre tips.

As you’d expect, the package also includes an aerokit, where both 718 models will be fitted with an extended front apron and central air outlet, curved air intake fins on their sides, a rear diffuser and a fixed rear spoiler.

Additional options include a 30 mm ride height lowering kit as well as a set of 21-inch Formula IV alloy wheels. The latter can be finished in a variety of colours depending on how you want to mix and match things.

Inside, plenty of carbon-fibre pieces can be added to go along with the special upholstery, decorative stitching, color-matched instrument dials, embossed seats, lacquered surfaces and many other things.

A Porsche Boxster is considered a ‘cheap’ sport car when it was introduced in 1996. It was designed as a “Boxer” mid-engined 6-cylinders 2-seater roadster 4 those who wanted a taste of Porsche without paying an arm 2 own one.

How time has changed since as the current Boxster/Cayman (718) is no longer a cheap Porsche but a capable sports car that used a 4-cylinders Boxer with Turbo chargers 2 deliver the horses but cost considerably less than the 911

The current Boxster 2.5 also deliver more horses(400HP) compare to the older 986(200HP). It drives like a dream & have excellent balance which some say is the perfect sports car. If given more power(Cayman), it will even humble its iconic brother 911 turbo.

Am sure German tuner TechArt will make the 718 even more desirable with their latest tuning package. With the ride height lowered by 30mm & throw in a set of 21-inch, it sure looks menacing 2 say the least.
