Google Talk Released

This is a short post. Rushing my Final Year Project prototype presentation. Will be back with more auto posts after I’m done!

Google’s IM long-anticipated IM service Google Talk is out. Head over to Kah Soon for screenshots.

What I like about it is it’s open to other third party IM clients as it’s based on the open source Jabber/XMPP protocol. A list of supported clients is available here. I’m going to use it with my Trillian Pro.

TM opens last mile, Jaring first customer

This is something which I’ve never thought would happen. Telekom Malaysia, recently rebranded as TM has opened up it’s last mile POTS access. This means other broadband providers can offer internet access through areas covered by TM phone lines instead of just being limited to Streamyx and sometimes unreliable wireless broadband service.

Subaru R1

Subaru’s flagship K-car is the Subaru R1, a mini 2×2 weighing only 798kg. It’s powered by a 660cc 16-valve AVCS engine makes 54hp. This car was definitely not designed to go fast. It’s basically a two-door version of the Subaru R2, with a shorter body and wheelbase.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Concept

Even as the Mitsubishi Evolution IX reached the shores of Malaysia, Mitsubishi already has the Evolution X in the works and plans to unveil a concept version at the Frankfurt Motorshow next month.

Proton Gen2 in South Africa

The Proton Gen2 has landed in South Africa. It will be distributed by Pearl Automotive, a subsidiary of Imperial’s Associated Motor Holdings group. Pearl Automotive also imports Lotus sports cars and Bentley luxury cars.
