It was previously announced that Subaru will be bringing its version of the Toyota FT-86 to Geneva, and Fuji Heavy Industries, the maker of Subaru automobiles, has opened a special website that’s open to the public. Visitors to www.subaru-global.com/boxersports.html will see a teaser image of what Subaru calls the “Boxer Sports Car Architecture”.

What’s shown is an outline of the front section of the compact sports car, with the brand’s famous horizontally-opposed boxer engine residing within. The other tech Subaru is famous for – Symmetrical AWD – won’t appear on this sports car however, as it’s rear driven. The caption on the website says that this RWD sports car will make “Subaru’s legendary on-road performance even more accessible”.

Subaru’s FT-86 is called the “Subaru Rear-Wheel Drive Sports Car Technology Concept” for now. We’ll have to wait for the debut to know its real name.

    maybe…

    Subaru Otto-Sei (Italian)

Since ‘Impreza’ is in Polish means ‘Event’
then the FT-86 should be ‘Subaru osiem sze??’

    Subaru Coxster? :p

Subaru Couster perhaps? (Coupe + Boxster)

RWD Subaru, that’s a new territory for Subaru, but luckily they have saved the development time by letting Toyota to do most of the development job, while Subaru focused on the engine design. Expect this new Subaru to be in the same class as the Porsche Cayman, Nissan 370Z, BMW Z4 & Audi TT RS.

I think subaru lost it’s main selling point de.. Ppl will say it just a Toyota FT-86 in disguise in a Subaru.. In the past, if not mistaken most of it’s cars model use AWD & Boxer engine.. Except those K-cars.. If i can roll out STi version, i bet maybe AWD will be an option.. Anything also can be done with more $$$… Those subaru fans will not be so disappointed and may differenciate from Toyota FT-86.
