Dubai police adds a Lamborghini Aventador to its fleet

Nothing like a show of muscle – and speed – to help in policing the streets. The Italians did it, and now the UAE is too. The Dubai police force has added a fast cruiser to its fleet, in the form of a Lamborghini Aventador.

It’s not quite ascertained just how the Lambo cop car is set to be deployed – various news reports offer different takes, from utilising the Aventador in locations that require a fast, sporty response and also as a deterrent to road users in the UAE from using the tarmac as if they were racetracks.

Apparently, speeding is a major issue in Dubai, with 15% of tickets for traffic offences issued daily being for that, with speeds of 200 km/h being the norm. It’s reported that those caught going at that speed may soon not just face fines but prison time for endangering the lives of others. Guess the Aventador can definitely catch the runners.

Other reports have the car set to ply tourist areas. Oh well, whatever the case may be, it’s definitely a winning score in one-upmanship. Hopefully, it won’t end up like the Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia patrol car – one of two in service then with the Polizia di Stato – that got pranged in 2009.

In any world calamity or floods, every nation tries to help the flood stricken country. Only the Arabs don’t lift a finger to help. Yes, they don’t even give any donations. The first to help is always Japan. Even poor nations try to pitch in to help the disaster stricken country. But the Arabs NEVER help. So, this is why they got lots of money to make Lambo into a police car.

  • Wow, need so many excuse to spend money..

My question is, how do you catch a car running at 200kph. Ram them off the road? Most probably the offender will not survive the crash and the A vent and a door will need some hefty repairs..

Nothing but cheap publicity stunt. Wont be long before we read another news with a Veyron added to the fleet. None can match our Kancil patrol cars!
