Updated Isuzu D-Max V-Cross previewed, July launch

2015 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 3.0L 1

At the launch of the Isuzu MU-X, an updated version of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 3.0L was also at hand, previewing the new styling tweaks the range-topping pick-up truck will receive after a year on the market. A source at Isuzu Malaysia told paultan.org that the launch is pegged for sometime next month.

Changes are fairly minor, limited to a new front bumper bar, 17-inch six-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, side steps and composite roll bar. The truck on display also sports a new blue hue (likely Nautilus Blue, a colour found in other markets), which has hitherto not been offered here.

The engine should be unchanged from the mill in the current V-Cross – a 3.0 litre 4JJ1-TCX VGS four-cylinder turbodiesel that produces 177 PS at 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm. Transmission choices should remain the same as well, with either a five-speed automatic transmission with manual mode or a five-speed stick shift on offer. Four-wheel drive is standard with all V-Cross models.

Isuzu’s engines are known for durability and fuel efficiency, not outright power. The engines are notoriously over-engineered too. It’s not hard to get 200hp running reliably from the 2.5L (standard 134hp) after some mods.

You wont go wrong with sushi car, although ppl will prefer the Hilux, cheaper, more reliable and better RV.

    • I disagree. Hilux KD engines are not reliable. Yet the new Revo are using old 135mpa commonrail injection system which is same as KD engine.
