Bus commuters from Seremban, Klang and Rawang will receive a 30% discount on bus fares from September 1 onwards, the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has announced. The discount can be obtained through monthly passes that can be bought from the participating bus operators.
The offer will be applicable to four major routes: Seremban-KL, Klang-KL, Rawang-KL and the Bus Expressway Transit 5 and 6 (BET). With the discounted rates, the monthly passes will cost RM185 for Seremban-KL route, RM91 for Klang-KL, and RM73 for Rawang-KL.
The BET 5 route, which starts from Bandar Tasik Puteri Country Homes towards KL, and BET 6, from Bukit Beruntung to KL, will now cost RM127 after the discount. Refer to the table above for more details, including the list of participating bus operators
The effort, according to SPAD, is to encourage the use of public transport among those living in the areas. To purchase the monthly pass, one will need to fill out an application form that can be downloaded from SPAD’s webpage or from the ticketing counter of the respective bus operators. Renewal of the monthly passes can be done directly through bus operators.
