North-South Highway Tapah R&R to close till Apr 2016

highway

The Tapah Rest and Service Area (RSA) on both north- and south-bound stretches of the North-South Expressway will be closed from tomorrow (September 3) till April 16 next year, PLUS has announced.

But fret not, the closure of the popular R&R stop is for the upgrading of the food stalls and food courts, and will not affect the restaurants, public toilets, fruit stalls, surau, parking bays and petrol stations.

Besides Tapah, PLUS also announced the temporary closure of several other RSAs to facilitate maintenance work. They are:

– Machap (north-bound) from 9am to 4pm tomorrow
– Machap (south-bound) from 9am to 4pm on Sept 8
– Dengkil (south-bound) from 9am to 5pm on Sept 8
– Dengkil (north-bound) from 9am to 5pm on Sept 9
– Pagoh (south-bound) from 9am to 4pm on Sept 9

The petrol stations at all the affected RSAs will remain open as usual.

This R&R is better to close permanently.
It created horrible jam on every weekend from Chenderiang till Tapah R&R.
I am not sure toilet bowl and food there smells better?
    Food are expensive too.
Why everyone need to stop there?

Why blame R&R? Lol. In fact the highway itself no longer ideal to support the vehicle flow.

    • No need to close permanently … just need to upgrade so that the R&R dont cause the traffic jam. PLUS NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS R&R URGENTLY TO AVOID HEAVY TRAFFIC JAM…

The WORST R&D is actually Sungai Perak north bound. It will create jam all the way back to before Terowong Menara, and possibly near Ipoh exit. Pls CLOSE R&R Sungai Perak.

Better still, close the highway altogether. No highway, no problem. We can still use the trunk road.

    • IF you were too young to even have a taste of using the trunk road for 6~7 hours to Singapore (straight without jam & stops), I suggest you better keep it shut.

Bodoh, then it’s not closure la. Just some area will not be accessible due to maintenance or upgrading works. No wonder our education system is a joke and our leaders and these GLC heads even bigger jokers. Bring on Clean 5.0
