This is the Honda Civic Tourer Active Life Concept that will be brought to next week’s Frankfurt show. The concept study jazzes up the Civic Tourer’s looks and highlights the wagon’s class leading cargo space and versatility. Cyclists will love this car.
The Civic Tourer Active Life Concept makes full use of the car’s 1,668 litres of cargo space and low loading height. Features include a smart loading rack capable of transporting two bicycles, along with a retractable arm which can be extended from the rack, making maintenance and repairs easier.
Other maintenance accessories include a built in integrated air pump, a large light located on the tailgate, an extended shade area and a retractable bench. Further accessories include a toolbox, bottle holder, water tank and a front wheel holder which are all integrated within the trunk side lining. There’s also a roof box for essential cycling gear such as shoes and helmets.
The Active Life Concept sports a blue finish with a lower gun metallic gradation and silver roofline. New 18-inch alloys and a custom design rear bumper are the exterior changes. Inside, blue stitching can be found on the steering wheel and gear knob, along with black roof lining.
The front seats combine both suede and leather and feature a carbon tape with blue piping that runs along the centre and along the upper outer areas of the seat, continuing into the suede door lining.
The Honda Civic Tourer 1.6 iDTEC is not just efficient with space, but fuel. It recently set a new Guinness World Record for fuel efficiency with an average 2.82 litres per 100 km (35.46 km/l) in a 13,498 km drive across 24 contiguous EU countries.
