Four “daredevil” motorcyclists, otherwise known as Mat Rempits, have been sentenced to a minimum of two days in jail and fined RM5,000 for their dangerous acts while riding. The four riders were ordered to serve their time behind bars immediately by the Traffic Magistrate’s Court, Bernama reports.
Pleading guilty to the charges, all four men were also served with an RM5,000 fine, and had their licenses revoked, with no chance of re-applying for new ones over the next two years. It was also reported that should the riders not be able to pay the fines, an additional jail term of five months would be enforced upon them.
They were charged under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which states that the prosecuted shall serve a jail term up to five years, a minimum fine of RM5,000, or both upon conviction.
The four riders involved were taken in under an Ops Samseng Jalan Raya operation by the police at three different locations: Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Raja Laut and at the Jalan Tun Perak intersection. They were brought in for performing dangerous stunts like “wheelies” on public roads between 9 pm and 1:30 am, on Sunday.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
i think the best way to teach rempit
ask them to clean the road after the acccident
ask them ‘kutip’ all the flesh blood
This is the problem. When you have 5 to 6 kids each, how to guide your children?
I totally agree
Stupid question! Nothings are related with how many kids you have but it is matter of how well you teach them!
Well said… 5 or 6 kids without proper education in the end join Mat Rempit… really sad for Malaysian future !!!
Apparently they need the Iriz turbo to continue their legend.
Can Proton talk less and work more, produce the shit rather than display it with Mars background?
This is the ugly truth with Malays in Malaysia. Encourage each other to have more and more and more kids. Maybe up to 25 years of age, this kids become useless rempits but only at the age of 30 they become real useful men. Then all the 25 years worth of wrongdoings are forgiven……..
Correction. 15 – 20
Same clowns. At night rempit. In the day time wear red shirt and protest. Same clowns. A drain to our healthcare resources. Waste UH and GH time, nurses’s time and doctor’s time.
Only 4? C’mon there’s still thousands of them. Try going to the LDP toll which leads to Putra Heights at 1-4am almost every Friday and/or Saturday night and you’ll see a horde of them.
Yes, thousands of them. Also thousands of spectators. And 100% you can guess who.
This is their behaviour. No aim in life. No guidance by their parents. When they grow up, they will be like their parents, all they know is kahwin empat and Malam Jumaat and expect Government to help everything
It is actually illegal for the police to confiscate keys and force motorcyclists to push their bikes to a police station without an arrest.
So would you prefer to give mat rempits free reign and race all over the place and endanger other fellow road users? Not to mention is it legal for them to have extremely loud exhaust and become a nuisance with their noise pollution well past midnight?
Mat rempit blatantly disregards any of the road laws so they should be punished and pushing their bikes for a few km is just light punishment.
Good….
I have to admit these are the anank anak kampung that come to bandar but cannot handle the excitement of city life.
Pls go back to the kampung if you cannot handle city life. Maybe you are meant to just pancing ikan by the quiet sungei at kampung only
Very good!
Is there such a thing as a legal wheelie on public roads?
I am so ashamed of my people doing this. I also came from the kampung, yet I worked hard to make it in KL. I hope our youths don’t waste their lives doing this crap
Life sentence would be more effective..
2 days jail only? should be at least a year or two
No follow up on the Kesas incident?
Wouldn’t it be better to try to accommodate these buffoons than jailing them? Could the Police close off a street for them once a week? Could a low-cost track be built close to KL? They are just young men blowing off steam.
Young men that don’t pay taxes!
GST bro, even school kids aren’t spared from it. And yes, Mat Rempit are a nuisance everywhere.
Serving and fining them still defeats the purpose. They’ll get back on the roads and continue to do their illegal racing. Either educate them to become a civilized citizen or confiscate their driving permits, motorcycles. And for the police, continue doing roundings around the specific area especially Friday nights, weekend, the night before cuti. Make good use of their new patrol car Proton Preve.
Two days in jail is like a holiday to them with free food & drinks paid by our tax money. The fine of $5K, parents will pay, so no problem right. These parasites should be given the ROTAN too; six strokes. Next time they want to get on their bikes; their buttocks will remind them to behave. No problem if they want to kill themselves doing their stunts; but endangering / threatening & even robbing the innocents cannot be tolerated.
negative social effect from movie like fast and furious…
What about car rempit, bus rempit & lorry rempit? Don’t tell me you haven’t seen them on the road.
Don’t be jealous just because I smoke your Preve Turbo everyday.
Though I’m pleased that some of these rempits are being punished. I have a feeling 2 days worth of jail time and the RM 5K fine won’t have a lasting effect on these low lifes and that they’ll be back on the streets soon enough.
The amount of danger they cause on the streets should warrant a more severe punishment. If that’s not possible than proper and consistent policing and enforcement should be employed by the PDRM. We all know their racing haunts and hotspots, and so to the PDRM, so they need to face and tackle this problem head on before it gets worse..
Two months jail and daily all cells toilet cleaning is more suitable for these ignorant samsengs
Actually i wanted to suggest to make these bastards ride on a stationary motorcycle continuiously for 2 days or more, they hv to stick to same posture without sleeping, going to toilet until they become phobia seeing a motorcycle. Repeat this “treatment” on the same person periodically.
These rempits at the losing end. Get RM100 by joining rally then kena RM5K fine.
no license\stolen bike\no income
inside jail makan free, come out steal again and repeat.
Two nights ago, there was a police roadblock on Persiaran Bukit Kiara near Sri Hartamas area. Police were stopping cars driving maybe around 90-100km/h (admittedly over the 80 km/h speed limit but not in any way life-threatening to other road users). We all know why the police are there (because this is a more ‘profitable’ route).
Instead of this, traffic police should spend more of their time and resources to catch the real menace, which is the super dangerous (both to themselves and other road users) rempits who wheelie, ‘superman’ riding, illegal street racing, etc, etc unfortunately less ‘profitable’.
Such is the sad state of affairs. Priorities are misplaced.
4 out of how many? Thousands? I think the four of them got jailed coz they weren’t willing to pay kopi duit to the matas. Kudos to our police that managed to catch 4 out of a few thousands mat rempits in so many years.
I believe in gen issue causing the misbehave of human being of today. A lot living human lack of quality inside them; in terms of moral, character, financially, it all caused the problems in this world. Religion aside; majority of earth population got one, but then the world does not gets better. And yet, the numbers of human being keep increasing, God bless the future generation.
2 days jail with a stroke of rotan …that is perfect….abah dan mak tak sampai hati nak rotan biar pakcik hakim tolong ajarkan…but sad, only a 5 thousand fine….
these rempits are the paid supporters of red shirt rally.
Licence? WTF is that?
