The Toyota Skills Contest 2015, now in its 26th year has seen a total of 1,200 participants contesting in 12 different categories. Out of that number, seven winners from seven primary categories have emerged. They will go on to participate in Toyota’s Annual Assembly of International Customer Service in Japan.
Said contest focuses mainly on customer service. It carries with it the objective of providing Toyota personnel with a platform to improve their skills and efficiency. In this case, particularly when it comes to handling daily operations and diagnosing difficult repair problems.
A few of the technical assessments includes, problem-solving when carrying out 5S servicing (including body and paint) and safety standard operating procedures. Participants were also put through a simulated test where they had to face a challenging customer. They were judged on their ability to handle the situation.
Champions of the main categories includes, Mohd Sani Bin Mohd Noor, Mohan A/L Duraisamy, Siti Zarith Binti Juhari, Mohd Nazri Bin Abdul Rahman, Mohamad Hafiz Bin Bahar, Soo Ling Hing and Yap Kai Cheong. All seven individuals will be heading to Japan.
As for winners in the local initiatives categories, Chong Zhuang Yu, Chong Mun Kit, Shirley Anak Mendan, Sivaraj A/L Perumal and Muhammad Faiz bin Ramli. These five winners will be awarded with an paid trip within the ASEAN region. First and second runner-ups will receive cash awards and plaques.
