Tokyo 2015: Subaru Forester facelift on display

Subaru Forester Facelift 1

The Subaru Forester facelift was revealed prior to the start of this year’s Tokyo Motor Show and now, we’re bringing you live photos of the of the SUV here. As you can tell, the changes are fairly modest, with just a few visual enhancement to bring it up to par with the rest of the vehicles in Fuji Heavy Industries’ (FHI) line-up.

At the front, the Forester receives a new set of LED projector headlights with C-shaped daytime running lights, a feature seen on the latest BRZ, Legacy, Outback, and WRX models. Accompanying the headlights is a redesigned grille and a reshaped front bumper as well.

The Forester also receives a range of revised two-tone aluminium wheel designs in 17- and 18-inch sizes, with the ones fitted here being the larger option. Meanwhile, at the rear, the tail lights match up to those at the front, with a similar C-shaped design.

Changes to the interior include a new instrument panel that features a colour LCD multi-information display. Leather is now applied on various parts of the car’s trim including the doors grips. Other additions include an SD navigation system, rear seat heaters and memory function for the driver’s powered seat.

Beneath the metal, the Forester receives a set of updates as well, with improvements made to the Forester’s AWD chassis and NVH to enhance vehicle dynamics and ride comfort. The tweaks include increasing the chassis rigidity, applying thicker door glass, and enhancing the Lineartronic CVT gearbox.

Speaking of the Forester’s transmission, the CVT is paired to an updated 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated flat-four petrol engine. The boxer engine still manages to produce 150 PS and 198 Nm of torque, but has been made more efficient. A more powerful turbocharged option is available here as well, with output rated at 240 PS and 350 Nm of torque.

Subaru is really good in designing 90s looking vehicle, even during the era of 2015.
