Top Gear line-up team

After it was announced that Matt LeBlanc will join Chris Evans on Top Gear as a host, the popular automotive show has now announced its entire presenter line-up for its return to television in May 2016. This time however, it won’t just be a four-member team but a seven-member squad (Stig included on both).

Chris Evans you already know as a former BBC radio host. Matt LeBlanc from Friends fame as Joey Tribbiani and of course The Stigness himself. New to the group is tyre slayer and automotive journalist, Chris Harris, whose YouTube page, Chris Harris on Cars includes a battle of the Holy Trinity (Porsche 918 Spyder, LaFerrari, McLaren P1).

Next up, is Nurburgring queen, Sabine Schmitz, who is no stranger to Top Gear viewers after setting a blistering lap on the Green Hell in a Ford Transit van, along with many other escapades. Both Harris and Schmitz were highly rumoured to join the Top Gear TV team.

One surprise entrant however is Eddie Jordan, founder and owner of Jordan Grand Prix, a Formula One team. Jordan has had long illustrious career in the motorsport, and mentored some of the world’s greatest Grand Prix winners including Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.

Finally, we have Rory Reid, editor-in-chief of automotive site Recombu. The whole public auditions bit the BBC put up for the job? Well, Reid’s 30-second audition tape helped him secure the role on the team.

There you have it, your brand-new Top Gear TV team. What do you think?
