If the idea of a BMW M5 or a Porsche Panamera doesn’t quite float your left-field boat, here’s something that should do just the trick – a Lexus GS F.
The performance sedan, which made its debut last year in Detroit, is now available in the country through official channels via Lexus Malaysia. Not exactly cheap at RM1.1 million (on-the-road with insurance), but it’s no pushover.
The car is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0 V8 engine offering 477 PS at 7,100 rpm and 530 Nm of twist at 4,800 to 5,600 rpm. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which features four different performance modes (Normal, Eco, Sport S and Sport S+, the latter designed for the racetrack).
Performance numbers for the 1,865 kg rear wheel-drive offering include a 0-100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds and a 270 km/h top speed.
The GS F features Lexus’ Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), which is also found on the RC F coupe. The system has three modes – Standard, Slalom (emphasising nimble steering response and agility) and Track, which enhances high-speed stability.
Other novelties include structural reinforcements, a unique suspension system, carbon-fibre rear spoiler as well as upgraded brakes, complete with bright orange calipers. As for wheels, the car sits on 19-inch multi-spoke items with front 255/35 and rear 275/35 tyres.
The interior features leather and carbon-fibre trim finishing, and the equipment list includes a F Design steering wheel and front sports seats, dual-zone auto climate control and a 12.3-inch electronic multi-vision screen.
Also on the standard kit list is a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system with which the driver can tune in to the big V8’s soundtrack in Sport S and Sport S+ modes – the RC F’s Active Control System is present, but the sound from the mill can be further amplified with the rear speakers chiming in.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
You know what has better performance? The A45 AMG.
Not enough space? For the GS-F’s asking price, you can get three A45 AMGs, and have RM50k+ left to spend maintaining them.
Same money. Buy 7Series + Audi Q7 !!
Same money. Buy Saga + Iriz + Preve + Suprima + Perdana + a lot more…
What’s the point you’re trying to make?
Yes, Proton provides the best value for money. People who buy Audi, BMW and Merc are stupid
Hey Bro, those who can afford doesn’t care la
If cant afford, diam diam lah.
I think they should price it at 5 millions cos it is easier to find one moron than to find five morons.
what a stupid UMW give this ridiculous price
BMW M5 selling bout RM850k depending on the spec equipment
who need to drive this RM1.1 mil car?!
lol
still slow..
Somebody who wants reliability and to not be by the roadside.
Wow!
People are moving to the efficient turbos and lexus introduces overpriced na engined cars heheheh
For coolness with that price, can I recommend the BMW i8 instead?
John prefers to have 20 Preve over this car.
1.1 mil? I won’t able to tell if this is a mod from Toyota also
Such a ridiculous price from UMW! They are screwing Lexus sales in Malaysia. No wonder hardly see any in Malaysia. So many better options at this price. BMM M5 Rm 900k (560bhp), Panamera GTS RM 1.1mil (440bhp), or you can get 2 Maserati Ghiblis! Bye bye Lexus Malaysia.
Bloody inbred Lexus Malaysia. I would rather get the new E63 AMG than this hunk of dunk. The only reasonable pricing for this car is around 500 or 600K. Hell even 600k you can almost get a 2nd hand M4
u can sell at any price, but no market what for? or u just want to let ppl know that toyota can also have a car that can sell for million to show equivalent standard as european luxury cars?
This is not HV product like Myvi so those who can afford and like the design or brand will still buy it. I had seen too many aunty driving overprisced new IS250 go yam cha with their kids.
Very nice car – crazy pricing though as the M5 is RM890k (though sans insurance & road tax). Definitely a left field choice. The M5 is faster courtesy of its turbocharged engine. Whereas the GS-F is old school big V8 NA engine – so power and torque delivery is very linear & predictable. And it sounds way better than the M5 too. So win some, lose some.
Only an idiot would choose this over a BMW M5, which is the King of Super Sedans, and RM200k cheaper!
Lexus vehicles are so overpriced in thos country!
Our Ringgit must have really shrunk.
Not really, going by the news. Just that toyota feels greedier than before cuz they manage to fool 300k pipu last year, so why not up the ante and profit margin?
Today in papers nasi lemak seller got charged in court and fine RM4k for raising nasi lemak price by RM 1. And here they can price this junk for RM1.1 million. Somebody ought to make a complain so that these greedy profiteering ppl get it too. Too bad UMW is untouchable crony.
Yeah, DAP crony tabouleh persoal otherwise u will be called BN lapdog.
Gosh, UMW is getting ridiculous with their pricing. The GS F doesn’t have the performance or pedigree of the M5 and E63, yet is 200k more expensive. 1.1mil is i8 and AMG GT territory, for heaven’s sake.
Is UMW in the right mind when pricing this car ?
Wahh…so cheap, put me down for 2 units, now where did I leave the 1.1 million spare change money…was it the left pocket or right pocket :p
Omw must be crazy!
Crazy price!!!
GS F or the BMW M6 Gran Coupe?
Oiii of course la 101% surely the M6 Gran Coupe!!
Bengong punya pricing! Masuk tadika balik UMW!!
Really wanna buy this in RM1.1million? Lexus…do you know Mclaren, Porsche, Lamborghini even Bently…!!!!??
shut up and take my money! lol
They can price this junk for RM5 million or 10 million for all I care. Not even sohai or lexus worshipper gonna buy it.
With so many attractive options at this price point…. difficult to see the GSF out of the door. Maybe someone who already has all the Germans he wants perhaps? Puzzling pricing.
I rather import a Holden Commodore SS-V Redline from Australia than buying 1.1mil ringgit for this car.
