Dude it’s 10k discount for a model that’s just been launched like a few months ago. Do u see other jap cars doing this? I’m not saying its not good to give out discounts, I’m saying you can’t just give such a high discount for such a new car. It will lose buyers confidence to buy your new models. It’s about balance, and you’re just comparing both extreme cases only.

Which part of “u tak suka u keluar jangan beli la adoi” do you not understand? 99% of the time the people who complain are not actual buyers of the cars. #fact.

merely replying on the part of “Give discount not happy. Don’t give say expensive and compare to US car prices. Apa lagi lu mau”. Also based on your logic, I could say the same thing “U tak suka my comment ignore la adoi”.

        Msian memang bodoh.

Nak keter murah, tapi sked RV hilang.

If I’m minister, I’ll raise excise duty every year and claim “rakyat will appreciate it, cuz raising excise duty can increase their RV”.

I wonder why my car still have not breakdown.. it seems that there is no problem with my VW.. so please lah! old news already la your problems.. it is YOU are the problem.. to be honest, ford and my old peugeot is double VW spare parts and no joke. Please do research before lament VW things. I had a few things getting it rectified due to squeaking sound, service centre is a little slow but it does give me nice ride. Dont talk to me about Resale Value.. if you want good RV, walk or take a bus so you dont lose on your car value.

and to those people talking about vw throw discount here and there.. Its normal. Bought a honda jazz for dad at RM 4k discount and now RM 10k in a speck of 2 mths.. so how to claim back? when car is not moving as according to manufacturer target, they are force to throw because manufacturer cannot stop the production line. to basher who likes to bash around.. stop talking nonsense.. start influence others to buy cars not only vw.. this is how we get the malaysia economy going.. once you bad mouth, people dont buy.. then they are force to throw.. simple.

I don’t understand why the car brands here in Malaysia like to reduce tyre size for they locally assembled cars. What the heck man? These cars look so great on the web and advert, and then suddenly they look so funny! Does reducing tyre/ rim sizes saves so much cost ?, then maybe I dont know..

Since the topic of RV kept resurfacing on this thread, which has made me inclined in sharing wat ive come to discovered since looking for a 1990s iconic make and model for the past 9 months, be it German, Jap and surprisingly even sum Italians, that some few now has a POTENTIAL value that has surpassed their price wen sold at launch. No doubt most have been lovingly restored even beyond wat the owner would spend (time n cash) for their own kids. But even unrestored as well as one or two tat had body damage..ive yet to find one tat i really wanted. And its the price factor tat i find tats putting me off. Models like the 90s 911 c2$280k-turbo$850k, RX7$80k, Nsx$300k, F355$700k, Civics EGs$50k, MR2s$80k are sum that value has slowly crept back up within the past year or two. RV also depends on how u drive n maintain the car..n if ure lucky the car has no jpj or police records with mileage clocking at only 10km a day. But wat ive learned from my searched even all that mite not even matter. Weekdays in KL my Myvi ive had for 10yrs has yet to unexpectedly dissappoint me. I use it with no pity nor care except for the occasional service, its like a go kart wif doors. Any car that i use daily has always been considered like a rental. And with rentals is all up to us if we want to rent a weekend wedding limo luxury cruiser or the simplest form to get from A to B is down to our budget, purpose and availability. BUT if i had known RV for cars i like back then would be the same and increasing today i prolly would be driving the 911 like Duchovny’s character in Californication..in disrepair but moving! So if u dont wanna lose a cent from buying a car..u gotta buy big, if its expensive now most likely itll still be expensive in the future OR if ure lucky u can predict the future cult hit..like the original beetle, mini or sumthin like a civic bullit! KonFem tak rugi beb! But if u feeelin minted and be rollin high for a while, it be nice to see sum Alfas n Fiats on our roads, coz a Huracan or a 458 only shows u got the dough but a 4c tells me u got yer hands in the dough wif balls to match and u got no qualms about gettin yer hands dirty to truly be filthy freakin rich!

And salute to Paul for having a site i find its function dictates its form and its set of responsive audience whom i find having substance as engaging as “more about go than all just fo’ sho”

Just me two cents here, thx.

A lot of people are furious and / or just cannot believe that after all the trouble, expose and damage, VW still continue to equip their Malaysian-market models with the laughing stock of a gearbox, i.e. DQ2000, 7-speed dry clutch DSG.

Even IF (and that a BIG if because no one believe it’s true) VW had solved the problem with this DSG, the damage was done. This gearbox is a worldwide pariah.

VW Malaysia sales progressed very rapidly from 2010 and hit record-high in 2012, with 13,003 units sold. This a very remarkable achievements by any means. VW sales curve is probably the steepest among all brands in that year.

VW was what Honda is now. WAS.

Since then, when the ugly truth about DSG came out and reach the masses, sales immediately take a hit and nose-dived in the following three consecutive years i.e. 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Actually the numbers (particularly in 2015) could be worse but VW have gone down fighting like no one had done before. The magnitude of promotions, campaigns and margin of discounts is unheard of in Malaysia auto history. The margin is so huge, its unreal. It’s mental.

However, even after adding the ‘unnatural’ positive effect of ‘gigantic’ clearance sales campaigns to 2015 sales, 2015 figure was still lower than 2014.

The whole initiative only served to hide the collapse of demands for VW cars (and clear unsold stocks / asset before theirs’ value depreciate beyond believe).

This tactic of enticement has continued almost unabated into 2016. The clearance sale in early 2016 seems to be even wilder than what VW had attempted in 2015. I still keep a clip of VW crazy stock clearance sale advertisement that appeared in The Sun newspaper in March 2016!
Its seems that wave after wave of campaigns have managed to blind quite a number of people. Sale trend in H1 2016 has finally snapped out from the continuous downtrend since 2014. Sale number is poised to return to 2014 level if non-stop enticements continue to be pulled out of the hat till year end. I am pretty sure this will be done. There are a lot of target (sales, production etc) that need to be achieved.

Presently, VW reputation and image in Malaysia is so low. So much for the high-level of snobbishness of being Das Auto to own back in 2013.

Now people did not envy VW owners but ridicule and perhaps pity them. It’s payback time for all those ‘high-nose’ attitude back then.

Beside, you won’t be viewed as a smart person if your buy VW products anymore.
    VW = Defect from factory.

The point is… Stop selling defective products. You’ll never get away with it.

But then, people of the same level of intelligence do attract each others.
