SC KL Marathon – closure of AKLEH, DUKE, 22 roads

The annual Standard Chartered KL Marathon will happen this Sunday (August 7), and roads in and around the capital city will be closed in stages. Affected roads are the AKLEH and DUKE highways as well as 22 other main roads.

According to Bernama, KL police chief Datuk Amar Singh said the AKLEH would be closed from 1.30am to 10.30am, while DUKE from 2.30am to 11.30am on the race day. The remaining roads would be closed on the same day from 4am and are expected to be reopened at noon.

The man in blue said the affected roads are Jalan Raja (Dataran Merdeka), Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Ampang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Kuching and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (Jalan Duta).

Other roads that will be closed are Jalan Langgak Tunku, Jalan Bukit Tunku, Jalan Tunku, Jalan Tun Ismail, Jalan Dato Onn, Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Damansara, Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin and Jalan Tanglin.

Singh said a total of 300 police personnel will be deployed to direct traffic flow throughout the 42 km marathon, which will see 35,000 local and foreign participants run around the city. He advised road users to use public transport and avoid the affected roads.
