Karak-highway-01

ANIH Berhad, concessionaire of the Karak Highway and East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), has release a travel time advisory (TTA) in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha, which falls on next Monday. This will be relevant for those who are heading to hometowns in the East Coast.

The TTA advises motorists from the Klang Valley heading to Pahang on September 10-11 to enter the Karak Highway and LPT1 from noon to 3pm, or from 7pm to 11pm. Those heading to Terengganu and Kelantan are advised to enter the highway from 6am to 11am or 5pm to 8pm.

For the return journey, those from Pahang making their way west are advised to enter the highway from 6am to 10am, or from 7pm to 11pm. Those coming from Terengganu should start from 8am till 11am or from 8pm till 10pm. Lastly, motorists from Kelantan, your slot is from 5pm to 9pm or 9pm to midnight.

The TTA, which is formulated based on traffic analysis during peak periods over festival seasons, aims to smoothen traffic flow and reduce congestion on the highway, toll plazas and rest areas. Motorists can get updates from the highway’s @LPTTrafik Twitter account or “Lebuhraya Pantai Timur” on Facebook. Drive safe.

ANIH should be shot for making our holidays turn into nightmare. How can they justify collecting toll by making 3 hours journey into 8 hours of hell ?

      • Malaysian Highway should learn from the ROC(Taiwan)’s, zero toll rate during major festive holiday (such as Mid Autumn Festival), but the precondition is that the highway is fully owned by the government itself, which is obviously not in Malaysia.
Perhaps it has years to go for those blood-sucking company to realize that the “CSR” can be done more then merely giving a 5-10% off but still have to jam for hours before travellers that earn that living away from home could reach their home during festive season

Follow China, open all highways and make it toll free during festive rush to ease traffic congestion as an example of a good corporate citizen

In Malaysia, money in cronies pockets comes first.
    Rakyat’s interest comes second.
