BMW Group Malaysia will be hosting the BMW Golf Cup International tournament in Malaysia again this year. Now in its tenth year, the golf event is the largest and most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the country, its organiser says.

The first and second leg will tee off at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club on September 28-29. The final leg is scheduled to take place on November 30 at TPC Kuala Lumpur. The BMW Golf Cup International is open to BMW owners who purchased their vehicles from authorised dealers.

“The BMW Golf Cup International series first teed off in Germany in 1987 and has since become one of the world’s most prestigious and successful amateur golf tournaments worldwide. Indeed, it has proven to be the benchmark for golf tournaments in Malaysia and around the globe,” said Han Sang Yun, MD and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia.

“Commitment to the game of golf is all about building trust through continuity, credibility, competence, skill and sophistication. These are some of the same traits that define BMW as a brand. This golfing event has also allowed winning teams to showcase their skills at the international stage, competing with champions at the World Final and proudly representing Malaysia,” he added.

This year, the tournament in Malaysia will have eight qualifying legs and one national final. The categories include Men’s A, Men’s B and Women. Further expanding its reach, a Guest category and Management and Staff category have been introduced for BMW owners with vehicles from non-BMW authorised dealers, as well as management and staff of BMW Group Malaysia, BMW dealers and event partners, respectively.

As the main sponsor, BMW Credit will be awarding the Hole-In-One winner with a new BMW 120i M Sport and an insurance premium at every qualifying leg, while the national finals winner will receive a new BMW 730Li and an insurance premium. Winners of each qualifying leg for the Nearest To Hole prize will receive RM1,000 rebate for BMW Insurance while winner of the national finals will receive a RM2,000 rebate.

We were given wrong info initially. Winners get cars plus insurance. Here’s the amended paragraph:

As the main sponsor, BMW Credit will be awarding the Hole-In-One winner with a new BMW 120i M Sport and an insurance premium at every qualifying leg, while the national finals winner will receive a new BMW 730Li and an insurance premium.
