The Petronas Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix will be happening this weekend, and the title sponsor unveiled this year’s grid girl attire on Saturday. Designed by Nurita Harith, there will be two outfit for the ladies – one for qualifying and one for the race day on Sunday.

The Nurita Harith x Petronas collection features custom-made prints, the bunga raya abstract and geometric shapes. The ‘sporty and modern’ qualifying outfit is the one with long sleeves and a raglan panel. The national oil company’s ‘oil drop’ logo is incorporated on the sleeves and there are pleated details on the top, adding a feminine touch to a sporty look. It is paired with a skirt with a side slit.

On race day, the ladies will slip into a more elaborate outfit. The top comes with capped sleeves with a printed neckline panel and shoulders. There are also pleated details and asymmetrical pleats for a link to Saturday’s outfit. The prints on the skirt represents Petronas’ synergy with a modern silhouette of the bunga raya. Printed pattern placements are asymmetrical for a unique final look.

Nurita Harith has a Bachelor of Fashion Design at Surrey Institute of Art in London. Based in Bangsar, her look usually consists of soft layers and drapes, which can be described as femininity with a touch of masculinity. She is known for her use of soft colours and does made-to-measure bridal and evening wear.
