Jalan Maarof to be closed from Sprint for MRT works

Work on the Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT station will necessitate the closing of the slip roads to and from the Sprint highway on Jalan Maarof, according to Bernama. A statement by MMC Gamuda said that the closure, which will occur from 12:01am on Saturday, July 8 until 6am on Monday, July 10, will facilitate the installation of permanent platforms at the station.

During this period, motorists from Kuala Lumpur heading towards Jalan Maarof to Bangsar will be diverted to Jalan Johar before turning left under the Sprint Highway flyover. From there, motorists from KL and Petaling Jaya will be directed to the opposing lane via contraflow. One lane will be made available to motorists from Bangsar heading towards PJ and KL, and a traffic team will be deployed to manage traffic there.

The company also announced that intermittent lane closures will continue along Jalan Kepong (both Sungai Buloh- and Jinjang-bound) for a 600 metre stretch, from July 8 to August 8 between 11pm and 6am. One lane will be made available for motorists in both directions at all times.

Good they are doing from 12.01 am. Singapore has been doing this system since 30 years ago, all works done from 12.01 am to 6am.

Finally Malaysia, 30 years later, is learning. Syabas, TNB and TM also must follow this method instead of causing massive jams day time when they dig the roads. After all, using cheap Bangladeshi workers. So, they don’t even get OT. Might as well do it at 12.01 am
