Toyota Sienta gains optional RM2,950 aerokit package

Those looking to spice up their Toyota Sienta will be glad to know UMW Toyota Motor has introduced a new aerokit package for the MPV.

Priced at RM2,950 with GST, the package introduces the Sienta to a new front bumper spoiler as well as side skirts. The aerokit is similar to what is offered on the Indonesian-spec Sienta, where it is standard on higher variants.

In Malaysia, the Sienta is available in two variants – 1.5G and 1.5V – both powered by a 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine making 107 PS and 140 Nm, mated to a CVT with seven virtual ratios. The aerokit is likely available for both variants, as any exclusions weren’t mentioned on Toyota Malaysia’s official website.

In terms of pricing, the 1.5G kicks things off at RM90,200 on-the-road without insurance, whereas the top-spec 1.5V can be had for RM97,000. Aside from sharing the same engine, the seven-seater also comes standard with safety features like three airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Isofix child seat anchors.

More airbags and AEB not body kits. I think Malaysian’s school need to educate our future generations of safety first not look cool first.

  • People only buy the Sienta for two reasons: the electric sliding doors and that T badge. They will even try to overlook the Sienta’s quirky (read: weird) looks because of that.

So, do you think they will spend another 3k to spruce up the car if looks is not their priority at all? Wait another couple of months and UMW will include the aerokit as free gift.

Decide on the car purely on look? This is the typical Malaysian ignorance we are talking about. Sienta is the only mpv which can fit 7 adult comfortably. Not even fortuner can provide that. Check out the car before you bragging without brain.

While the 3rd row can have the feet slided into bottom of 2nd row seats, the width is just not comfortable enough for 2 adults. Overweight pipu will touch their elbows or knees. 1-2 hours journey is not a prob but longer.

        Exora anytime.

7 adults comfortably? Have you tried sitting in the third row together with another adult before making that claim? No two adults can sit comfortably in the third row seat for any long journey. You also forgot that the Innova exists and cheaper than Fortuner. Actually, I am not surprised of a T salesman making ridiculous claims anymore.

When you are too long in toilet, you know shit only. The third row space and comfort in sienta beats all other mpv, including innova. Get out of your toilet and get in the car. Typical Malaysian brainless reply.

    • I seriously considering Sienta not because of T badge. Yes because of the sliding door. Refinement, NVH, practicality (like elevated 3rd row seat) is better than competitor (like BRV).

I would not considering aerokit too.

Are you serious? Hideous, low power, not aerodynamic and outdated Sienta compared with BRV? Ever wonder why BRV sales exceeding yearly expectations? It’s only July but Honda increased their target 30% for BRV.. OMG you’re still sleeping..

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 1 Thumb down 4
        • Hideous? No, it’s quirky but it’s interesting. Design is subjective but BRV’s rear view is not good either
Low power? Lower than BRV but it’s adequate. It’s the only thing in specsheet can’t match BRV
Not aerodynamic? So, BRV has better aerodynamic? Not even close.
Outdated – Tell me which one is outdated?

BRV sales because of the ‘SUV’ factor – although it’s not an SUV – other than its brand.
Sienta is the only Toyota I would consider. No competitor in this segment

It is crying because people who buy it have to fork out around RM100k for a “small” vehicle. The worst part is most people are servicing their loans for 8-10 years. Now you know why it’s crying!?

  • Good specs car, worst adverting..Looking weird plus orange makes it weirder. Try grey or black better. Flexi seating arrangement, electric door, auto headlamp all first in its class..could be best weird looking MPV
