Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is the all-new 2018 Honda Accord. The popular midsize sedan has been thoroughly redesigned for a sportier appearance that mimics the approach taken by Toyota with the new Camry, plus new turbocharged engines and transmissions, a redeveloped powertrain for the Hybrid model and various technologies that make their debuts here.
As expected, the new model takes plenty of cues from the latest Civic, with a fastback design that gives the car a sleeker look than past Accords. At the front sit slim headlights joined together by a chrome wing, under which sits a large, upright grille that extends all the way down. Like its smaller sibling, the new Accord is available with full-LED headlights, along with LED fog lights.
Moving towards the side, there’s a strong arching character line that goes above the deeply-sculpted flanks, emphasising the car’s length. The glasshouse stretches further back which, together with the increased tumblehome, gives the Accord a more dynamic look. The roof and cant rails are joined using a new laser brazing process that negates the need for rubber strips along the rain channels.
Finishing off the look is an upswept rear deck, wraparound tail lights with LED light guides and integrated twin exhaust exits. Honda claims that the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the new Accord has been improved by around 3%, which it says makes it the most streamlined Accord yet.
Unlike the Civic, which has been considerably larger than its predecessor, the Accord’s exterior dimensions have stayed pretty much the way they were. Honda says that the new model is actually 10 mm shorter (at 4,880 mm) and 15 mm lower (1,450 mm) than the outgoing model, although it is 10 mm wider (1,860 mm). Larger gains can be found in the wheelbase, which is a whole 55 mm longer (2,830 mm).
The greater distance between the front and rear wheels has allowed the rear seats to be moved further back, adding more than 50 mm of rear legroom. The seats have also been positioned inboard to improve hip, shoulder and headroom, while the boot is now 28 litres larger at 473 litres.
This increase is room is paired to a more refined cabin that Honda says is higher-quality and provides a more premium feel. Outward visibility has been improved through a lower cowl and 20% thinner A-pillars that have been pushed further to the rear, and the arching design of the upper dashboard panels flowing into the door cards provides a sense of strength and continuity.
Elsewhere, there are larger arm rests with thicker padding, along with new seats featuring taller shoulder bolstering and new high-accuracy seat padding with variable firmness – the latter improves comfort and support. A 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is available, as are heated and ventilated front seats and rear seats with heated squabs and backrests.
The driver sits in front of a new seven-inch instrument display, next to the eight-inch Display Audio touchscreen infotainment system – Honda has bowed to consumer criticism regarding the all-touch interface on previous systems, giving the Accord physical knobs for both volume and tuning. The new system is also more smartphone-like with customisable tiles and home screen shortcuts.
New technologies available onboard include wireless smartphone charging, Near Field Communication (NFC), 4G LTE in-car WiFi, over-the-air system updates, a six-inch head-up display and up to ten speakers with 450 watts. There’s also next-gen HondaLink telematics which incorporate emergency assistance, remote locking and engine start, stolen vehicle tracking, remote diagnostics, geofencing and speed tracking.
All models in the United States come as standard with Honda Sensing, which includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and the new Traffic Sign Recognition. There are also new driver and passenger knee airbags, as well as the optional Blind Spot Information, Cross Traffic Monitor and Driver Awareness Monitor.
Power comes from a pair of new turbocharged, direct-injected petrol engines. The 1.5 litre four-pot with dual Variable Timing Control (VTC) is the one you’ll be familiar with – it’s the one in the new CR-V, and it produces 192 hp at 5,500 rpm and 260 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 5,000 rpm. All that is sent to the front wheels via a CVT or an optional six-speed manual gearbox.
Sitting above it is the new 2.0 litre i-VTEC version that shares plenty with the mill in the new Civic Type R. This one makes 252 hp at 6,500 rpm and a stout 370 Nm between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm, and is mated to either the six-speed manual or a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
There will also be an Accord Hybrid that will utilise a new 2.0 litre Atkinson-cycle engine with a claimed maximum thermal efficiency of over 40% – on par with new Toyota Prius and Camry Hybrid, as well as the Hyundai Ioniq. Paired to it are twin electric motors, as well a more compact battery that slots under the rear floor instead of the boot, preserving luggage space and the 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
Under the skin, the Accord is stiffer than before to improve ride, handling and noise absorption, and incorporates a higher percentage (29%) of ultra-high-strenth steel to cut overall weight by between 50 and 80 kg. The centre of gravity is also 10 mm lower than before.
The chassis features MacPherson strut front and more compact multi-link rear suspension, mounted to an all-aluminium front and a more rigid floating rear subframe; a new dual-pinion variable-ratio electric power steering is also fitted. All Accords now come with Two-Mode Driving System with Normal and Sport settings, with adaptive damping available as an option.
Refinement has been improved with the use of full underbody covers, front and rear fender and engine compartment insulators, alloy wheels with resonator technology, sound-absorbing carpet, an acoustic windscreen, optional acoustic front side windows and a new, three-microphone Active Noise Control system.

Pakcik kunta, tolog ingat makan ubat. Ini car blog, sila post opinion on car. Bukan all the hates.
So shy, basher need create dupes to defend himself. Why not try to use real facts instead of cave facts?

Our cars in Malaysia are high spec and have the cheapest car prices in the world. We should all be thankful
Only Perdana high spec and have the cheapest prices. Yet pipu Taknak.
Sudah lah john. Asyik fake news. Tak habis habis. Mental retarded.
still lie to people and rakyat? You think we are ignorant like you?
halo si john, macam mana kereta di Malaysia paing murah di dunia? Betul ke?
Approximately when is the new Honda Accord will arrive in Malaysian market???
The key sentence here is “All models in the United States come as standard with Honda Sensing”
In Malaysia, only the top most model costing round RM170k to RM190k will have Honda Sensing. Just like the new CRV. Why is this so? Malaysians life not important?
Government of Malaysia should say, Honda’s with Honda Sensing should get lesser tax imposed on it for the goodness and safety of the rakyat. So sell the cars cheaper.
Who can really afford RM170k in Malaysia?
It is unfair only the rich can enjoy safety and the poor have to go about without Honda Sensing.
Can the Government of Malaysia be bold enough to reward car companies with high safety spec with lower tax? After all, less accidents means our hospitals also less cost. In the long run, Government saves more!
Pakcik, boleh tak jgn cakap angin. Ini car blog, bukan tempat to create fake stories
Last GE, promised 30% car price cheaper.
Next GE, Accord still so super damn expensive AF.
Last GE, promised to reduce car prices 30%.
Next GE, Accord still so super damn expensiv AF. Nothing change
Mental patient john still say mesia cheapest cars? Fake news liar. Keyboard warrior with no life
Get a higher paying job or start a business, quit whining
RM8143 MY pipu income, according to john. Perdana selling like hot kuih.
Sick of keyboard warrior john and his lies say mesia got cheapest cars in world. No shame
The problem is not our jobs. Anywhere in the world this car is affordable by middle-income familys, whereas in Malaysia, it is not. It’s not that expensive a car and there should not be so much tax on it that makes buying it just not worth it.
Tired of this Kunta fellow’s compliants. This complain , that complaint. Paul tan should just ban this guy.
US rich nation, cars cheap & more safety.
MY cars less cheaper, sure richer than US.
Sick of john, every PT article he say Mesia got cheapest cars. Tak malu jadi keyboard warrior. Get paid to lie
How can this be MY fault when its standard ASEAN spec, not even for southoverlord land?
Even nipponhome land spec, HSensing is not standard across range. So is this salah lord Abe?
Rakyat didahulukan, safety diutamakan.
HSensing terbaikk
Our car prices are the cheapest in the world. Why do you still complain?
Whatever la john..haih.. penat dah aku.
We are fed up with your lies mr keyboard warrior. Prove it?
So nice design, easy to market.
Putrajaya where got vision? See who are the ones in Putrajaya then you understand further
Those who r mentally blind thinks others r blind.
True john. Hail the visionary leader!
Meleisian is proud nation. KLCC, Putrajaya, KLIA, LRT, MRT…
TQ A&M, Malaysia Harapan besar!
Your suggestion makes perfect sense.
About as much sense as a suicide booth.
After few more glances, this new Accord is indeed a good looker. Thumbs ups Honda!!
Dah tau miskin tak payah sembang nak berlagak beli Honda. Proton dah cukup murah ada safety kit tak pulak nak sembang safety. This site has the blemish of your constant complaints. Please this is a car blog, to discuss about current automotive news, not for you to perform your racket about how you couldn’t afford a car. A few comments or complaints is good but dude damn it’s like you complain on every post of Paultan.org, seriously?
Benci also the big liar john always in all post come and lie about mesia got cheapest cars and cheapest petrol in the world
Most benci the dupe who got no backbone to defend himself & his cave facts. Need to go create new dupes to dupe pipu.
Dei! Everyone here can see thru ur bollocks!
Who can afford 170k in Malaysia? Well you can ask all the new Merc and BMW owners. These two register stellar year on year growth. Much bigger than cheaper cars!
Don’t blame the government for your lack of ability. Not all people can earn 5 figure salary.
I do though. LOL
Rental for 4 years punya
Even the baby chair is not tax free..
The only thing tax free is when u buy 24 Juta cincin
Mimicking the new Proton Perdana rear light.
Civic & accord sama platform. Volvo S90-ish rear lights, Mazda6 dashboard.
Dont like the fastback look with those silly rims. Dashboard copied from Mazda6. Damn Americans. But hey, at least the 2.0 turbo engine is something!
Camry, Mazda6 & Teana hvin a LOL moment!
Rear looks like current camry+civic crab lights
Mazda6 called to have its dashboard back
Bro, Kopi Pasta lol. Honda never copy paste the design typically civic.
People says beauty is subjective, for me, this car look weird..
Best buy would be a used 12 month old Sonata. RM60k max, instead of paying RM160k+ for a brand new sushi
That explained why you bought your 24yrs old son proton saga and not even want to pay for a cheap kimchi second hand
On picture might not attractive.. Maybe once it coming here it looks awesome.
I’m a big fan of Toyota. But this Accord really kicks the 2018 Camry out of the game just like what the Civic did to Altis.
Wow pretty Camry, Hallmark of reliability.
Moving Forward :
https://paultan.org/2017/07/11/2018-toyota-camry-hybrid-on-sale-in-japan-33-4-kml/
Get a 12 month old Sonata. Best buy
Oh my….. does anyone notice the car back looks like our Accordana?
I think Perdana taillights looks better
Cuz both Accordana design influences from DRB.
Quite ugly. The fastback look doesn’t work on all cars, and doesn’t work all the time. Here’s a fine example of when it doesn’t work. This Accord has lost its athletic look although it progressed greatly in all other areas.
Perdana3. same same
No, this is worse. Copies design from lower segment civic but turn the rear lights upside down only.
Lazy designers, sack the designers!
You are wrong. They are lazier. Google Honda Crider and see the rear lights. This design has been used for more than a year now. Honda didn’t even turn it upside down. They just copy and pasted it!
Yet bashers dun demands for their sackings. Why? Cannot persoal overlord?
Cuz overlord folo diamond king. Cannot persoal
Oho. Toyota lords alredi into diamond mining business? Ada source ke?
Not ‘quite ugly’. It’s ‘super damn ugly AF’. I had a fear this would turn out like this after seeing the initial sketch. So glad I got myself the current gen facelifted 2.4l which looks much better.
First d CRV 5seater & dis Accord damn ugly AF…Cheers UMW Toyota! Camry Harrier CH-R!
But of course initial redesigned models will never be perfect until they get facelifted. So we all can wait for the facelifted version in the years down the road. This is why I only buy facelifted/updated cars of each generation; they are the best version of that car.
The design looks good on Civic but somehow it doesn’t go well on bigger car like Accord.
What’s the combined power output of the hybrid?
Current generation, Honda design wins, as Camry is super fugly.
Next gen, sorry, this goes to Camry, as the next Accord looks cheap, and a little towards the ugly side. Nonetheless, current gen Camry wins it for the fugliest model ever, among all Camrys and Accords ever released.
I believe Honda will unveil facelift accord in less than a year after this newly hideous ‘failed civic emulation’.. just like previous version of US civic hiatus.Feel so sorry to all uncles, the New Camry is ugly but New Accord also same ugly AF..only the best specifications offerings will determine the sales winner. But looks like Accord give more than Camry..again.I’m just happy with my turbocharged Civic.Yes,I’m poor, not afford a BMW yet.
130K turbocharged Civic.
Toy plastics interior, noisy cabin. Perdana gooder
Sorry but,
138K N/A Perdana
More plasticky interior, old fashioned wood trim.
I’d choose Civic
I don’t like rebadged, borrowed or hand over specimens.. Yes,i know perdunno is cheaper but I’m not that cheap. It’s been a year but the 3k quota given by Honda for perdunno still not moving out of stockyards. It shows Malaysian now are smarter than their ancestors.sorry dude.
Exactly! The previous fugly Civic fiasco was also a result of the US design dept.. this time around, the millennial Japanese designers had inputs from the Honda LA studio. They’re repeating history and pretty soon they’ll have to redesign most of its exterior design elements in a little over a year!
Voila, Honda copied Proton Perdana’s rear, Malaysia boleh.
JEPUNIS BOLEH! BOLEH COPY PASTE!
Chukurr la ckit john oii..Jepunis donate u Accordana
We indirectly ‘curse’ or ‘bless’ this next gen Accord
Yikes! this thing ugly af… even the Perdana looks better
Looks like a facelifted Spirior to me… I can see that the rear tail light is heavily influenced by the Spirior.
252 hp at 6,500 rpm and a stout 370 Nm Paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.. the Avncier have 1 Gear less than this new accord wth????
That 9 speed auto in the avancier was temporary solution for honda I guess. They took from ZF. This 10 speed is their own, I think
O…M…G…!
Honda needs a Peter Schreyer. N.O.W!
The Bemchmark has Arrive !
Power: 5*
Interior: 5*
Features: 5*
Exterior: FAIL
Exactly. Why did Honda have to apply the Civic’s design language to the bigger Accord? Bodoh punya Honda, they should be aping the latest E-Class and 5-Series, not its own Civic! Epic Fail.
Accord, the Inner Beauty.
See, bright coloured interior is so nice. Can buy for your secretary.
Optima GT 245hp is my choice
0-100 slower than Jazz Sport…Zzzz
Compare apple to apple please zzz
Yes agree with u…totally agree..more aggresive design with better all-around specs..btw this car performance r very2 good
It look likes an enhance version of the new Proton Saga
Now we say perdana have better look…. Admit it…. Proton is the best. Proton > Honda > Totoya
Nothing beats the design of our local XJ
True dat! Everyone wanna copy it now…
Lucky Everyone din copy Perdana lacklustre sales…he he he
I dun see whats so funny. Perdana2 is selling like its projected figures, which is not much. Thats the reason why they smartly rebadge the platform, minimising R&D cost for a low volume model. Kudos to P1 foresight.
Current exterior of Accord is da bomb, then they degrade it to this? If people want a sporty operator, they go for Civic. The Accord should reserve its identity and class. Unfortunately, this is a ROJAK design language.
someone Honda is heading to the Panamera direction.. since Panamera can make, why dont we make all our sedans to look like the Panamera so it’s more high keras and look faster
Ugly. look like current Proton Perdana
I was planning to replace my very reliable honda accord which I think OVERAL was a great car, after looking at the 2018 models I STILL intent to buy because there has been technology/engine-wise there has been many improvements. Hopefully, they bring the 10 speed 2.0 turbo.
2.0 type R engine, consider buying a cheaper type R sedan
looks like GT from side view. Beautiful at the front but funny at the rear. dashboard looks like somewhat from the Mercedes C-Class and Mazda 6. But driving technology is top notch with LKAS and ACC as standard equipment. The 1.5 T and 2.0T engine is unmatched by other D-segment rivals e.g : Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, KIA, Hyundai and etc.). The car is sitting between the Japanese/ Korean and Continental Sedan (Volks, Audi, Merc, Beemer). Hope the price remains as its predecessor (145k – 175k) for the whole range.
Technology/Engine specifically there are many improvements, overall it is still a good buy. Hopefully HM brings the 10 speed 2 litre turbo to Malaysia.
Do u see, guys? In US, there is always a variant with non-CVT on top (more expensive or higher spec than) the CVT variant. 10 speed auto. Dont dream that this variant will come to Msia. Honda Msia think that Msian people are poor thats why they gave us CRV-CVT.
CVT saves fuel cuz its smaller. 10spd autobox is freaking huge
Thanks for reply. If mercedes managed to produce 9G-Tronic with similar size to the 7G-Tronic, i cant see why honda couldnt.
Cuz high gahmen duties & taxes. Not Msian people are poor.
Gbox type dun have any effect by duties or taxes.
Thanks. I know. Japan car manuf. have this mentality. Look at Alphard, RM40xk, with 6 speed GB. Vellfire at RM3xxk with CVT. By UMW, not the grey import.
No idea why, but the rear look reminds me about wider saga rear. It just pops out from my mind when I first look.
The latest Accord……is WEIRD in exterior design.
They got hybrid version too? They better don’t. It’s not their expertise.
If you notice honda’s trend…they always change between good and bad designs , instead of upping the game each time which is impossible…
same with BMW, with their evolution and revolution designs cycles,
the next honda accord will probably have the traditional 3 box sedan design , and proper accord DNA , most likely mimic acura’s offerings, because they know their customers dont change cars every cycle , every gen is different to pursue different kinds of customers
this looks like an evolution of the banana shaped teana , which nissan then abandoned for a more sleeker sporty look..
this might appeal to the current banana shaped teana owners tho looking for an upgrade…
Ah. Seriously Honda. Cmon. You can design better than this laa rite. I think I quite like the old one la.
It copy current C-Class body design. Rear lamp looks cheap & not proposition with front headlight. Interior wise & implement no gear lever as it replace with button likes AM.
This latest gen is not my favourite. Sorry Honda.
Hope this new car will make the slow drivers drive faster. Most of the time Honda and Toyota drive slow on right lane and block the whole traffic.
Btoi maa..
Civic lagi elok.
Accord….shape kureenngggggg…
Hancussssssss……
The rear looks like it was inspired by the new Perdana
Three Letters:
W T F
The new Camry looks better
Honda’s accelerated aging design.
Freakin’ ugly. Reminds of the old Chrysler Alpine Talbot.
Honda tries the Panamera tail design
Nice…but just not as immediately pretty or proportionate as the civic, at least in pictures. Maybe will be better in the metal. Engine choices are wickedly enticing.
Now that proton has been bought over by china, what is the need to protect it by having high taxes on foreign cars?
Wit our low salary, we end up paying such a high price for cars because of malaysian gov’s stupid policy.
By right the high end accord with full honda sensing should not even be more than RM140,000.
But in malaysia we are taken for ride by the gomen …. :@
High taxes is to “incentivise” pipu to use public transports. MY pipu r the lazy stubborn kind that needs to be forced to adapt to use modern modes of transportation and leave the cars & motors behind.
But still not enuff, Gov need to implement congestion charges into cities NOW!
Larangan Kapcai masuk KL bila start?
Hopefully after GE14, when other side cant use it as political tool. We really need to reduce congestion & pollution in cities.
Low salary, live within your means. Forget about getting an Accord. Save money and drive a Bezza until you get a better job.
Biar betul abang Donkey…Smue member sy Suke Bezza, Suke Myvi.
Taknak saga, Taknak persona.
Member ko je , meanwhile……..
You la stupid thinking gomen will abolish tax
Nice engines, but based on past experience, manual trans won’t be here. Please surprise us with manual option, Honda Malaysia!
Prefer the older ACCORD. MUCH more appealing exterior design.
Why boot so small. Smaller than City & Persona & Preve
The next camry will be having a field day competing with this accord. This accord has nice interior but exterior design the next camry is nicer.
Dashboard panel almost similar to mazda 6
This 2018 Honda Accord, the whole exterior design copied from Proton Accordana!
Not better than current generation. Don’t really like the knobs on touchscreen & air cond control panel. What’s wrong with the all-touch interface on previous system? Should not take plenty of cues from Civic but should have it own unique design to be a benchmark for other car models.
The only thing that Honda made well was the kapcai. Everything else is copy and modify.
Err….where’s the gear lever?
toyota & honda..BURUKNYA DESIGN!
No stock laa
First of all, Honda copied the Volvos for their Hideous Jazz Gk5 and old shitbird CRV SUV.
Then, Accord copied parts of the older W212 Mercedes E-class and the outdated F10 BMW 5 series.
Now 2017, they decided to copy parts of Audi sedans body shape, etc. The rear backside looks like from Hyundai’s latest sonata and Kia’s K5. The interior air cond vents look like old crappy and hideous parts from the 70s and 80s. LMFAO Honda designers. No originality and lost of identity.
Nice brand name and image but shitbird automotive products except their beautiful motorcycles.
Honda Malaysia can seriously go and F**k themselves. 1)Extremely ugly, expensive and poor built quality vehicles to begin with.
2) No official brand new Civic Fk8 type R models for sale like the rest of the world including the small country named New Zealand. No Jazz RS Petrol with the latest specs like the JDM Fit RS.
3) Corrupted and twisted Management managed by childish and foolish people with no balls and high on crystal Methamphetamine.
4) Successfully blinded millions of Malaysians with their shitty Bullshit tagline. “The Power of Dreams”. In reality ” The Power of Bullshit”. LMFAO Honda Malaysia Pukima Management!
Kinda disappointed. Itz design language actually didn’t gel up between front & rear. Feel current Gen9 Accord is more neat n elegant…
Not a looker. The Civic pulls this off better. The Accord does not manage . Lacks finesse, especially for this segment.
Well, Honda seems to have a historical track record of making a good looking Accord, and an ugly one the following generation, with another good one the generation after.
3rd Gen 1985 – Accord with pop up headlights. Nice
4th Gen 1988 CB – Bland
5th Gen 1994 CD/SV4 – Good Looking, Super sharp.
6th Gen 1997 CG – Bland. Honda succeeded in making a Camry.
7th Gen 2003 CM – Good Looking, very brave front end, meh rear end…made worst in the facelift.
8th Gen 2008 CP – A little obese.
9th Gen 2014 CR – Good looking, nice hips, although the rear end looks a little too much like the first gen Hyundai Genesis when it was launched. Facelift with LED headlights and rear updated clusters was really good looking.
Lastest 10th Gen, – Well, seems Honda doesn’t know what it wants the Accord to look like. Honda did try to do a fastback accord before called the “Cross Tour” aping the BMW GT line, which turned out really disastrous for Honda.
My bet is that the 11th generation Accord would be an absolute stunner. We will have to wait to 2023 to find out.
JDM and European Accords (and the Acura cars that where based from) were much more successful in maintaining a good looking lineage generation to generation.
Well said, absolutely not a love at 1st sight.
Very attractive Accord! Interior cockpit and AVN is a BIG improvement over current generation. Seemed Honda makes effort to bring every latest technology in this area. HP wise, no question about it. Turbo makes every drive exhilarating and spirited!
But, most comments here talks about appearance. Sheese… -_-
The dashboard copy Mazda6 lah , but at least it looks good , but the exterior is mehh
The back really turns it off….im glad i bought the facelift now
What an awful design. Big fail. Next please…
Even as a Honda fanboi i do have to say this one is a miss from Honda. Trying to use less of foul words i can, a breakaway from tradition i know, in the paultan comment section, i’ll try to explain. I mean is fine to have a slopping rear end but youre not masking it with a shoulder line that follow and while i can see they are trying to mimick an A5 sportback from the front, the A5 cuts it away with better proportion whereas this have a front end seems to be slam into a flat brick wall
The interior is heavily Mazda 6 and i have complained the Mazda to have unimaginative interior latout, this is no different, it looks to have followed Mazda’s quality over querky but an evolution from current Accord dash layour would have be a better choice over, well whats here.
What cannot be faulted is the digital dash display. Volkswagen and its stable mate Seat, have begun heavily utilizing digital dash in non-premium cars along with peugeout. Honda seems to lead the Eastern pack with what they’ve done to the Civic and CRV, to follow suit with a more advance one in the Accord. Powertrain is also interesting, while the top end V6 of yore would prove a prohibitively expensive ownership experience to reliably introduce in Malaysia, i cant see how Honda will miss introducing the range topper 2.0l turbo over here espacially we have the Korean Optima wheezing about locally with 250hp.
Its a hit and miss with this new Accord, i’am not a fan of the styling much like with the Civic and CRV, but kitted out, it will be, as usual, a fierce competitor in the market. Oh who am i kidding, kf course it’ll sell with thy giant H badge up front.
CVT or 10speed auto tranny, your bet?
I more of a fan of lesser gearing cars, 6-7 is ideal, any more and while good for touring, is just too much for more ‘spirited’ driving. As for malaysia having which transmission should the Type-R engined Accord be introduced here i’am not so sure. The Accord will have to be CKD to be priced competitively, Honda Melaka plant already has an inventory of CVT that is paired to the Blown L15 engined. Introducing a 10-speed into the inventory will be cost prohibitive given that only the Accord 2’0l will be paired with it. the 2.0l will definitely sell less than the 1.5l, lack of economic of scale will cause pricing be higher whereas in the US, the 10-speed is shared with the bigger Odyssey Family cruise liner adding to the already massive Size of the US market.
But than can the CVT be maited to the big blown 2.0l with its 370NM of twist, CVT arent usually compatible with high torque engines. I hope we get the 10-speed, but im not so sure if its economically feasible. Well than again Thailand has a 9 speed ZF solely for their oil burning CRV so chances is high for the 10 speeder to be here……wish they have a 6-speed 3 pedal set up thou
Knowing Honda Msia, engine & transmission pairing will be similar to the newly launched CRV…
The Civic 1.5T engine had a lot of vibration issues.
Camry is dead meat now..
dead? i think the new camry is way nicer
Korean car design influence is very apparent at the rear lights!!
Wish to have auto adjustment seat for front passenger too….
BMW already dropped the ‘broken-nose’ design, only now honda pick up…..
sayonara honda
i saw Audi design
Honda need to sack the designer…new accord really looking shitty inside out!! Omg. .
I VOMITED 10 TIMES YESTERDAY AFTER I SAW THIS CAR. Ultra-ugly. The person who approved this design should be SACKED AND JAILED FOR LIFE!
Just like handphone nowadays, why buy samsung if you can also buy china brand handphones i.e accord 2018 vs Accordana
omg buruknya!. dah kenapa honda???
This is exactly likethe Geely Perdana.
Congratulation Geely. U saw the future and made Honda follow you
All hail Geely
Apala these people. Everyday complain.
Give good specs, complain mahal. Give cheap price, complain low specs. apalagi mau?
high spec and low price?
Impossible lar. This is our market here in malaysia. Cannot change wan. Just live with it. Or, ubah!
But then, for ubah, it’s political already. Let’s keep politics (as well as race and religion) out of our love for anything motorised.
Empty vessels make the most noise, true enough given that so many peasants inside here are whining like a swine of the possible high price tag for the upcoming Accord. Come on, instead of blaming others, blame your own pathetic self. You are the lazy, low achiever type who want to live the high baller lifestyle. If you work 2 job now, work 3 or even 4 if you must! Shame you lowly peasants for complaining about prices etc when this is a free competitive market and those with edges would win! So work hard dear loser instead of whining like a fatpig and growing your disgusting looking big fat belly in front of TV complaining about prices etc.
Said d deluded macai, Must work many jobs to earn pink diamonds…this is a free competitive market and those with diamond edges would win! Malaysia Boleh!
while you all argue about the design, I’m still looking for the gear knob..
I’m hoping Honda Malaysia will bring in the 2.0T model with all (or almost all) bell and whistle and price it max 180k. That’s a win.
Overall interior is fine, but honestly the designer better work harder and redesigns the exterior.
Good brand
bring the 2.0 engine with honda sensing and you will win. people buy accord can afford 2000cc roadtax. we need it please!
The exterior! Holy crap…crab.
First impression of the main body langguage design looks like proton perdana. Mostly from the side’s back part..
ugly
Holy cow what have they done with the rear???
Jeezz.. Whats wrong with honda and the taillight? Civic with the crab leg design.. Now accord with the crab claw?
One Word – UGLY !
Seriously Honda?????? Accord first gen was more proportionate
Better face lift this thing soon. Aiyoo.. why fastback design? Why…..?
ugly or not, ppl will still buy this crabby crap.. can wait for super sales by Honda.. hope you guys can enjoy it for at least 12 months.. my repo guys and tow truckers and trained in shock therapy..so dont worry, just buy .. your business is my business.. need to upgrade to a Mustang soon,,pls support
looks so ulgy….
Looks weird and disproportionate, is like they try really hard to fit the original front and rear of into a fastback design. And it doesn’t work!
Macam current perdana je
I believe the Front exterior will be nicer if on the road.
The Rear really can’t accept, so old style design.
The interior not outstanding but still nice but I prefer the 2018 Camry stylish interior.
May be Honda team put too much focus & effort in designing the Civic and miss out the Accord!
The rear lights is a total failure, similar to the Civic!
I hope Honda Malaysia introduces the 2.0 iVTEC version at a reasonable price. Nice torque. Will definitely wait for it to come out.
Most of the features for the Malaysian market will be sadlyyreduced compared to the units sold in the US. It’s always the case for all the models brought into Malaysia.
Betul ker nihhh . . . macam perdana. . .
perdana design is way better – for exterior design
This Honda Accord 2018 have brake hold function like in Civic?Any indicative price for the new models? Thx.
This Honda Accord 2018 have brake hold function like in Civic?Any indicative price for the new models? When will this new model be available for Malaysia? Thx.
I would like to have the accord sport trim in Malaysia.
I hope it comes in manual transmission as im a manual drive junkie…..
I prefer the back of the current Civic to this incoming Accord but have to see in person to judge. The new Camry to me looks better and cleaner. To each their own.
When will the new accord arrive in Malaysia
