Mercedes-Benz reveals AMG emblem LED projector

If you have a deep love for the AMG brand, and would like to express it in a way everyone else can see it, good news! Mercedes-Benz has added another item to its original-parts programme – the new LED Projector AMG Emblem.

The new part is available for numerous vehicle models with the corresponding door lighting packages, from the A-Class, right up to the hulking GLS SUV. Customers will be able to order it straight from the factory, or have it retrofitted by replacing the factory-installed entrance lighting at the bottom of the front doors.

Once fitted, you’ll be greeted by the AMG emblem projected onto the floor every time you enter and exit the vehicle. For a bit of trivia, the apple tree on the river smybolises the company’s location in Affalterbach, Germany, while the cam, valve and valve spring symbolizes its engine manufacturing prowess.

The AMG emblem LED projector joins an existing one that shows the traditional Mercedes-Benz star, as well as the illuminated star in the grille (as seen on the W212 E200 Edition E) and sill plates.

Just waiting for someone to come up with a projection of their logo from the front headlamp so you’ll know an AMG/M/RS is behind you and wants you out of the way.

These things are called “ghost light” in China. Costs RMB 20-50 (about RM 13-30) per pair (yes, really!). Easy plug-ang-play installation if your car has an existing door courtesy lamp / puddle lamp. Available for wide range of car brands and models.
