Petronas Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 with Pro-Drive launched – smoother drive, better fuel economy

Fuel retailer Petronas Dagangan has just launched its reformulated Petronas Dynamic Diesel Euro 5, now with Pro-Drive. The new clean diesel is claimed to offer a smoother drive and improved fuel economy, with a higher-quality base diesel from Petronas’ refinery and uniquely formulated chemistries designed for modern common-rail diesel engines.

The Pro-Drive technology in the fuel has been developed through its partnership with Iveco in the Dakar Rally, with the Petronas De Rooy Iveco winning the 2016 edition.

“Petronas’ involvement in the Dakar Rally has provided us a platform to study the requirements of the latest high-performance common-rail direct injection diesel-powered vehicles and continuously improve our products to meet even the most extreme driving conditions,” said managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus.

The company claims that the Pro-Drive fuel removes deposits and protects injectors, allowing it to effectively clean the engine, ensuring optimum engine efficiency. The fuel is also said to have a higher cetain number than other diesels on the market, improving combustion – Petronas says that this results in smoother drivability, cleaner emissions and lower noise.

A higher heating value is also promised, indicative of a higher level of energy per kilogram of fuel, delivering better fuel economy. All-in-all, Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 with Pro-Drive is said to clean and protect critical diesel engine parts, improve combustion, promote easier starting and reduce vibrations.

Petronas Dynamic Diesel Euro 5 with Pro-Drive is now available at 58 stations, with the company planning to increase the figure to 115 stations in the near future.
