Ford Ranger FX4 White, Wildtrak Grey – from RM122k

The Ford Ranger has been a perennial bestseller for Ford Malaysia, and it is set to offer buyers additional options with the inclusion of new colours for the 2.2 litre FX4 and the range-topping 3.2 litre Wildtrak in Malaysia. The new Ranger 2.2 FX4 Cool White is priced at RM121,888, while the Ranger 3.2 Wildtrak Meteor Grey goes for RM141,588 (both prices OTR without insurance).

The 3.2 litre range-topper had also previously received a limited-run version in the Jet Black Edition, in addition to the standard Pride Orange and Cool White finishes. Meteor Grey was itself a colour which was available on the FX4 at its debut.

Here, the Meteor Grey finish is complemented by additional Wildtrak graphics along its cargo tray sides, while the FX4 adopts unique decals and gloss black paint applied to the grille, side mirror caps and door handles. Matte black roof rails feature as before, along with Wildtrak side steps.

Powertrain specifications for each model remain as before, with the 2.2 litre FX4 retaining its 2.2 litre turbodiesel four cylinder engine with 158 hp and 385 Nm of torque, six-speed automatic transmission with driver-selectable four-wheel drive with low range and hill descent control. The Wildtrak stays with its 3.2 litre five-cylinder turbodiesel as well, packing 197 hp and 470 Nm of torque, sent to a six-speed automatic transmission and driver-selectable four-wheel drive.

Rated payload for the 3.2 litre Wildtrak is one tonne. Equipment-wise, the Wildtrak features a SYNC 3 infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both the 2.2L FX4 and the 3.2L Wildtrak in their respective new colours are covered by a three-year, 100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty.
