Petronas has announced that its “The Only Game Where Everybody Wins” promotion will be concluded earlier than planned – originally supposed to run until February 28, the contest will instead end tomorrow, on January 6. The fuel retailer explained that this was because of the high demand for the vouchers allocated, which were all scooped up quicker than it expected.
The company admitted to making mistakes with its on-ground execution and communication, and said that it was aware that people were dissatisfied due to the vouchers running out early. It added that it appreciated the feedback from its customers, both positive and constructive.
As a result, from January 6 to 12, the company is offering six times the amount of Mesra points given out at over 1,000 Petronas stations and 750 Kedai Mesra outlets, the highest ever offered for purchases. It has also presented prizes to the winners of the contest, who won RM500, RM1,000 and RM5,000 in cash prizes, a phone of their choice and one year’s supply of shoes from Zalora.
For those not familiar with the campaign, Petronas offered vouchers from Lazada, Zalora, G’Zox, Digi, Grab, Starbucks, Kenny Rogers, Rotiboy, McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway and Tealive during the promotional period, in addition to the aforementioned prizes. Also up for grabs were RM5 Petronas vouchers, free Mornings@Mesra breakfast combos and a RM5 discount on Petronas Syntium lubricants.
To be eligible to take part, customers had to purchase either RM20 worth of petrol, a Kedai Mesra promotional item or any three- or four-litre bottle of Syntium lubricant.

petronas should remind their dealers to always give the voucher without hesitation. sometimes the forecourt crews did not give the voucher unless been asked for. this, of course when the vouchers were still available.
Same old stories from Petronas just like the previous ‘payung’ campaign.
Exactly, I was supposed to be able to claim a total of 5 umbrellas before but only managed to get 2. Petronas sucks.
I only managed to claim twice. Petronas stations always say out of stock. I guess they scratch the vouchers themselves. Next time tie the vouchers up to mesra card and whatever rebates, make them claimable online only.

Feel cheated by this promo, as only managed to get the coupon once. The rest of time those stations always said coupon finish or out of stocks…stupid Petronas if not capable of doing such promo, next time better safe it for your own self…
It show Petronas did not do their homework well. A good company will usually replace the promo/voucher with a equivalent gift. Many feel being cheated after pumping.
It is a huge disappointment..I live in Selangor and manage only to get the vouchers only within few weeks. After that, most of the petronas station informed me to claim the vouchers later as the promotion was running until february..the same story goes to petronas station in Terengganu when I was travelling there to visit relatives…the staff informed that they were running out of vouchers too..
When I fueled up today in Shah Alam, the staff told me the promotion was already ended…and in return is giving 6 times mesra points and bla2..Petronas Dagangan is making a blunder again after the once upon in time the umbrella promotion..
Congratulation to a company of such a calibre who is bound to make the same mistakes again and again..
I am back to Shell and Petron now..adios..
