Penang government to channel RM899,700 worth of incentives to taxi, school bus drivers – Lim Guan Eng

The Penang state government has channelled a total of RM899,700 worth of incentives to 2,343 taxi drivers and 656 school bus operators in the state. According to The Sun, chief minister Lim Guan Eng said each of the recipients will receive an incentive of RM600, which will be handed out in two payments this year.

“This year, there are a total of 2,343 qualified taxi drivers – 1,702 taxi drivers on the island and 641 in Seberang Perai. For school bus operators, there are a total of 656 operators who have valid permits from the related authorities, and are qualified to receive the incentives,” explained Lim.

“There are 330 school bus operators on the island and 326 school bus operators in Seberang Perai who can receive the incentives,” Lim said in his speech during a ceremony to hand out incentives to taxi drivers and school bus operators in Sungai Nibong, Penang.

Lim also added that the state government had the incentives for taxi drivers in place since 2013, and a similar incentive was given to school bus operators since last year.

The penang gov should give land to taxi operators and bus operators.
The penang gov is so generous to the SPV, why not to taxi operators and bus operators?

  • Summary: Vios, Altis and Camry not selling. Innova, Fortuner and Hilux sales still ok. BTW, I don’t think with such low rebate, the sales of the 3 sedans will improve much. Don’t be fooled by the ‘free accessories’, because that was available since a year ago on Vios and Altis.

There’s something wrong with the calculation. If they were to handout RM600 for 2999 drivers, that would round up to RM1.8mil
