Recently launched in India and priced at 1.25 lakh rupees (RM7,364), the 2018 Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 drew a lot of interest from paultan.org readers. Many like the looks of the R15 V3.0, with its full-fairing sports bike styling, and asked if it was ever going to come to Malaysia.
Well, reader Pakcik Misai sent in some photos of the YZF-R15 V3.0 parked in an undisclosed location, sans number plates. Decked out in Yamaha’s sports livery of Racing Blu and Silver, the R15 V3.0 might be appearing in the Malaysia market soon, as many readers are hoping.
The R15, now in its third iteration as Yamaha’s “baby” sports bike, comes with a SOHC, liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder mill displacing 155 cc and producing 19 hp at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. Fuelling is by EFI and a six-speed gearbox delivers power to the rear wheel.
Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) is used to provide low-end torque and high-end performance using two intake cams, the same system as used in the Yamaha NVX 155. An assist and slipper clutch is also installed to reduce clutch lever effort and eliminate rear-wheel hop during deceleration.
LED lighting is found all-round on the R15 V3.0 and an LCD instrument panel is found inside the cockpit. We have no details as to how and why this particular 2018 Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is in Malaysia and official distributors Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia declined to comment.
Here comes the real Game changer!
Hopefully it is not like the company that always uses the word “game changer” in all their car launches but every car lingkup
Pipu bailout so no problem.

U mean like ur Toyota?
Toyota ok ma.. My hailat can sold every where over the world. Not like your proton Proton Iriz.. the real failure! Don’t know what kind of the car.. EEV? not! Hot hatch? Not! Hybrid? not! So? No wonder no body want to buy anymore.. Malaysian buy Myvi & jazz for their hatchback car..
Yes. New Toyota Corolla 1,000 bhp game changer.
150cc not enough

SOHC? And 155cc? Kena road tax bhai… Not much but not as free as 149cc. Ptuih hong Leong and Yamaha. Suzuki already brought 150cc 6 speed sports since 20 yrs ago.
Roadtax kena for bikes above 250cc la brader
no.. even modenas jaguh @ 175 cc have to pay road tax yaa..
It’s just 20 ringgit bro, why fret? Even 250cc owner kena 50 ringgit also tarak bising

Because TZM never exists
Wow..USD fork and slipper clutch for 150cc bike. Makes you wonder have those really been R&D and put in for performance or just thrown in as a marketing strategy.
Not just that the VVA tech by yamaha must take to consideration.Only scooter from yamaha got this tech in Malaysia n the power out put is reasonable…..for standard….thats is what i like new engine
Low cc bike with Superbike specs? What the point having a water cooler for a 150cc bike? For rising up the price or it can fly??? Haha
dey, the LC150 osso liquid cooled la not just this model….smh
They just copy the front of 2007 cbr600rr
Laughable poor people’s bike.
i doubt you are a biker.
Bikers brotherhood doesn’t categorize cc. Only immature classifies by brand.
Thick wallet doesn’t resulting good rider, it is a passion my brother.
exactly, and rempit is state of mind, you could ride an EX5 or the latest 488GTB but if one has a rempit mind they’ll be revving an peacocking all over the place regardless.
Then Rich ppl fly Helicopter or something, laugh at harleyrider, never ending envy/mock…
This not even 1st world problem
They have their focus for this bike, if all ppl can afford rocket to the moon, Yamaha also sold that lah… Macai
This model is not slated to be launched here. Too niche market to capture and not worth the investment by dealer.
Wannabe sport bikes like this (below 250cc) do not make sense because they lack low end troque at the expense of peak power, thus manufacturers pile on all kinds of technology including a lot of snake oil (marketing hype) to raise the price of the bike for very little advantage.
A new rider will appreciate this type of bike for about as long as the empty road takes him/her until a bigger biker blows him/her away. Then a new and bigger bike will be due shortly but the second hand market is not too kind to these type of bikes with their hugely inflated prices and little utility value. It’s a vanity machine for the beginner motorcyclist.
Two stroke say hi…
Fuel consumption say bye…
Kapchai not 183cc with SYM so how can street bike still on 155cc? Street bikes should be 200cc and above, then got standard.
Some ride for fun and doesn’t need the Broom!
haha
The quality of Yamaha has drop in Malaysia. Next bike change will be either Honda or Suzuki. :)
Suzuki only CBU, bike bike focus too…
Are u expecting Gsx-R150 enter Malaysia Market? Even Belang already struggle to survive for spare part…
what’s honda, suzuki & yamaha market will drop later, let’s choose demak is better and valuable!
When it ever reach bolehland. The price tag will be rm10k+++. Paying for two bikes for one. :( Better buy 30units of Proton Iswara and the rest 29units to have stock as spare parts. Hahaha
Direct covert value from Indonesia price already Rm10 – Rm12k, you expecting price like Demak or Bajaj for Yamaha, then take those brand lah…
Even for Kawasaki, if they make 250cc 4inline in 2019 price will not be the same as R25 lah dey.
Are u geng BN, Hidup Rakyat? Choose wisely 4 GE14, :D
maybe feels the pressure from modenas..need something new before people start believing in Bajaj + Modenas
Mat rempit question: speed can reach 200kmj?

Ambulance also can reach that or even police car if u really push them…
