Updated in four new colours is the 2018 Honda MSX 125 SF minibike, also known in some markets as the Grom. Retailing at RM10,499 without GST, down from the previous price of RM11,128, the MSX 125 SF is now clad in Incredible Green, Halloween Orange, Splendid Blue and Gayety Red.
Power comes from an air-cooled, single-cylinder fed by Honda’s PGM-FI and delivers 9.6hp at 7,000 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm. A four-speed gearbox gets power to the ground via chain drive and fuel is carried in a 5.7-litre tank.
Rolling on 12-inch wheels, the MSX 125 SF uses a 31 mm diameter upside-down fork in front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the back. Braking is done with a single hydraulic disc, front and rear.
Weighing in at 102 kg, the MSX 125 SF comes with LED lighting all-round. Inside the cockpit is an LCD dashboard that shows the rider all the necessary information, including twin tripmeters, fuel gauge and clock.
Seat height is a very rider friendly 760 mm, making the MSX 125 SF suitable for younger riders and short trips in and around urban areas. Introduced to the Malaysian market in December 2016, the MSX 125 SF’s main competition locally comes from the Kawasaki Z125 Pro at RM9,844 and the Benelli TnT135 at RM7,989.
Tried one of them. Rather comical but good tossable fun, being so light and compact. Only gripe is the small wheels….which isn’t too comfortable on potholed roads. Most of Honda’s 125 and 150 scooters come with 14″ and 16″ wheels..so honda could have done a little better than the 12″ on the MSX.
Sorry my big finger hit dislike accidentaly
