ha ha ha ha. What fake news. Proton engines are known to drink petrol like crazy. Ask any Preve owners.

And what is worse, as it gets older, it drinks 2X more than when it was brand new.

Proton owners No 1 complain is that their cars are gas guzzlers

I’m a Exora CFE owner for 6 years and I can vouch that you must be lying based on my own experience. Nowhere does it drinks 2X more petrol than when its brand new, and neither does anyone from my EOCM fellow members have shared what you said. It drinks like a 1.8L, I give that, but it powers the car like a 2.0L, so that’s a trade-off most CFE users willing to accept.

Jepunis cars – if older – fuel guzzler
            P1 – if older – FC lower

Geely SUV is not even developed by Proton . ITS a RE BADGE. can not make it a statement that Proton is efficient. if proton has the brain to develop their own EEV platform and engines then salute.

Seriously? Is this guy for real?! P1’s reputation for high FC is the myth. In contrast, P2’s fuel saving is the real myth, I have to refuel my Myvi 4 times per month compared to my other car (an Exora) that only needed 3 times refuel per month. And the Exora has a bigger engine with turbo!

does your myvi clock similar mileage monthly with your exora ? you must think we are idiots to believe your claim that exora is more fuel efficient that myvi. the exora is 500 kg heavier.

    • Have to plan the journey carefully. These challenges usually timed their travel during least cars on road and passing thru bottleneck areas b4 or after peak periods.

Hypermiling constents is in no way to prove a car’s efficiency. Normal drivers don’t drive like a hypermiler.

They should allow some press convoy with other manufacturer’s cars. Say, put a Myvy 1.3 in the Iriz 1.3 and Saga category and see how they fair.

If John says proton cars are more fuel efficient than Perodua’s then that should not be a problem.

    • Normally automaker organised FC challenge is by using their own vehicles lar. Like VolvoTrucks Fuel Watch challenge and Scanias Driver Competition uses their own brand trucks. So whats the problem? Later P2 cannot achieve better mileage, then jepunis fanbois will jump and shout P1 sabo the competitor car or paid the media. So how?

Nice. Proton should do this as an annual event. Participants should also have a complete service record at Proton (to reward loyal customers). Those selected should get a free pre event service check and maintenance.
Wish Proton also provide additional categories by year of manufacture ie 1-3 years, 4-5 years and older than 5 years.

    • Gud comment and idea. But instead of year of make, they shud segregate into engine sizes, and tebo/non-tebo category.
