After spyshots of it emerged, Hyundai has confirmed that it’s developing the i30 Fastback N, which will be the third model in its high-performance N line-up after the i30 N and Veloster N. The booted i30 N will be unveiled later this year.
These official images are of the i30 Fastback N in the final stages of development, undergoing performance and durability testing at Hyundai’s Nurburgring technical centre, the famous track, and surrounding public roads.
Unveiled a year ago, the i30 Fastback is a unique car, and the only five-door coupe in its segment, Hyundai says. Compared to the i30 hatchback, the Fastback is 115 mm longer and 30 mm lower. 25 mm of the latter comes from the roofline and the rest comes from the suspension, which is also 15% stiffer.
“The New i30 Fastback N will take this car to another level, enhancing the sophisticated design of the original model and combining this with the BPM-raising characteristics of its sibling five-door i30 N,” the Korean carmaker says.
The hot fastback is expected to share the same engine as the i30 N, which is powered by a 2.0 litre Theta T-GDI with 275 PS and 353 Nm. Paired to a six-speed manual, the hot hatch does 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

Hyundai is smart to have a Fastback/sedan i30 to complement its existing i30 N & Veloster N. Some millennial like a fast sedan with a decent booth & extra power on his right foot to go with his fast pace in life.
Dear Hyundai Sime Darby, don’t shy to bring this car in.
