Carlex Design introduces range-topping Exy Yachting conversion kit for Mercedes-Benz X-Class – RM313k!

Earlier this year, Carlex Design introduced the Exy Off-Road, Exy Extreme, Exy Urban and Exy GTX conversion kits for the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class, and all were limited edition items. This time around, the design company has stepped things up with the Exy Yachthing kit, which costs a whopping 66,000 euros (RM313k), and production is limited to 100 units only.

Created especially for yachting enthusiasts who prioritise luxury, this pick-up truck comprises 15 exterior body parts, including the 20-inch Maybach S650 Coupé rims (shod with Michelin Latitude Sport 3 tyres), teak tonneau, bonnet lip, headlight frames, carbon-fibre front diffuser, CF arch extensions, CF rear apron, raised rear spoiler and a SmartBoard electric side steps. The graphic styling stickers and limited edition plaque come as standard.

Inside is where things get a whole lot more exciting. To start, the cabin is upholstered in original Nappa Porzellan full grain leather – a highly desired automotive material – as well as Alcantara or exotic wood and decorated with embroidered and embossed motifs. The front seats are new Recaro Sportster CS items, albeit wrapped in the same exquisite Nappa Porzellan leather.

The steering wheel has been reshaped and features exotic Zebrano wood inserts, Alcantara headliners, Zebrano wood floor mats, dashboard trimmed in leather and Alcantara, and more use of leather throughout the cabin.

If that’s not enough, Carlex Design is offering additional items, such as the V8 exhaust sound system that’s operated via a mobile app, carbon ceramic disc brakes with AMG clamps, and ProAudio Stage 2 kit which bundles soundproof door mats, loudspeakers, DSP amplifier and sound calibration. There’s also a suspension lowering kit, which reduces ride height by 20 mm.

If the Exy Yachting is too much for you to stomach, perhaps the entry-level Exy Carbon X will tickle your fancy. The kit comes with a carbon-fibre exterior kit with CF arch extensions, CF grille and bonnet lip, as well as 18-inch alloys with BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A tyres.

Pricing starts from 6,995 euros (RM33k), though options include a variety of items like the suspension lift kit (raises ride height up to 30 mm), roof-mounted LED light bar, tailgate-mounted ladder, SmartBoard electric side steps and V8 exhaust sound system.
