Bentley is celebrating its 100th birthday this year, and to mark the occasion, it is preparing to release a special edition model at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This teaser image is the only glimpse of the mysterious vehicle for now, and it looks to celebrate the company’s illustrious past.
Though not explicitly stated, the celebratory car is likely based on the latest Continental GT, and features a number of bespoke cues. For instance, the mesh grille has been painted with a large race number that harks back to the racing ‘Blower’ Bentleys of the late 1920s and more recently, the Pikes Peak Bentayga.
The rest of the bodywork is also finished in a dark green that is again, reminiscent of classic Bentley race cars. Beyond that, there’s not a lot of details about the special edition model, which will likely feature plenty of fancy materials in its cabin.
For some company history, in 1919, Walter Owen Bentley created a company with a simple objective: to build “a fast car, a good car, the best in its class”. This served as the primary guiding principle for the company since, and on July 10, 2019, the British company will celebrate its centenary.
