Jan 2019 week four fuel price – petrol same, diesel up

Another Friday, so it’s time for the usual weekly fuel price update. No change to that for petrol, with the price of both RON 95 and RON 97 remaining as they were from last week. The price of diesel, meanwhile, has being increased by a single sen.

From tomorrow, January 26, RON 95 continues to be priced at RM1.98 per litre, while RON 97 remains priced at RM2.28 per litre. As for Euro 2M diesel, it will be priced at RM2.18 per litre (up one sen from RM2.17 the previous week). This means that Euro 5 diesel, which is always 10 sen more than standard diesel, will go for RM2.28 per litre.

The government said that the slight increase in the retail price of diesel is due to the global price of the refined product, which is now at US$73 a barrel compared to the US$62 for RON 95, the high-ish rate brought about by increased worldwide demand for the product, especially from China. The government however added that as promised, it would maintain the retail price of RON 95 at RM2.20 and diesel at RM2.18 per litre even if market prices push the pump prices above that.

These prices will be in effect until February 1, when the next set of fuel price adjustments will be announced. This is the fourth week of the weekly fuel price format, which is set to be announced every Friday. The prices will be effective from Saturday until the following Friday.

I am happy with our petrol prices. I am happy to pay any price so long as the country is corruption free.

This is because whatever price I pay for petrol, I know the tax paid on the petrol goes to help build the country! and not into few people’s pockets!

I hope our fake troll don’t come here and ask RM1.50/l petrol mana?

This is fake news because our beloved PM announced last year that this was fake news and not in PH manifesto. I rather believe our honourable PM than a frustrated keyboard warrior

Crude oil has tracked downwards, so why petrol is same price and at same time diesel went up??? Is it because PH is manipulating petrol prices due to a upcoming by election?
In the first place, petrol should have been much cheaper because of their election promises. What we see now is an insult to their voters.

Because PH diehards are grateful, so they take opportunity to increase diesel prices.

    • Not only in malaysia. In many other countries too. 1 reason is with 1 barrel of crude oil, you only get 10 gallons of diesel and 19 gallons of gasoline .So diesel is supposed to be priced higher in the first place.
