The 2019 Proton Iriz facelift hasn’t been officially launched yet, but details and specifications of the car have now been fully revealed, detailed via an exclusive media preview held earlier today, The event wasn’t just a static affair, as there was a chance to briefly sample the refreshed Myvi-fighter.
When it makes its market debut, the Iriz will be available in five variants, these being a Standard 1.3L MT, Standard 1.3L CVT, Executive 1.3L CVT, Executive 1.6L CVT and Premium 1.6L CVT. The 1.3 litre (offering 94 hp and 120 Nm) and 1.6 litre (with 107 hp and 150 Nm) mills are carried over from before, but now recalibrated for better fuel economy.

The facelift also introduces a new iRiZ model badge. Other bits include a shark fin antenna, black-painted roof and 15-inch ‘rotor blade’ two-tone alloy wheels on specific variants.
Inside, the seats now feature a new upholstery design (semi-leather on the higher end variants), with both upper and lower portions of the cabin now darkened to provide a more uniform look. Also on, a new seven-inch touchscreen head unit offering a range of connected services similar to the X70, including “Hi Proton” voice commands for navigation, music and weather.
The instrument cluster has also been refreshed – the analogue gauges are bigger and offer improved legibility, and a full-colour multi-info display makes its way on. The steering wheel, meanwhile, adds on perforated leather wrap and a voice control button for the head unit, while the Premium CVT variant gets a new X70-like gear lever and a frameless rear view mirror.
