Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new Concept EQV at the Geneva Motor Show. The full-electric MPV, which is based on the W447 V-Class facelift, previews a series-production vehicle that will make its debut in Frankfurt later this year.
The study features a compact electric drivetrain (eATS) on the front axle with an output of 150 kW. Here, the electric motor, the transmission (with fixed transmission ratios), the cooling system and the power electronics are grouped in a compact and integral unit.
A 100 kWh lithium-ion battery – housed in the vehicle’s underfloor, freeing up interior space – offers a maximum operating range of up to 400 km. A rapid charging function means that the battery can be charged with sufficient energy to offer 100 km of operating range in just 15 minutes. Other performance figures include a 160 km/h top speed.
The battery housing layout means that there’s no sacrifice to the EQV’s people carrying ability, and it can be specified as a six-seater with premium seating or with seven or eight seats for use as a heavy-duty family people mover.
Exterior design cues that differentiate it from a regular V-Class include a new ‘electro-look’ – the car is finished in high-tech silver and features LED headlamps, a radiator grille with chrome inserts and an LED band. Completing the electric underpinnings is a dedicated 19-inch light-alloy wheel design.
Inside, the cabin of the study is dressed with plenty of blue tones, contrasting with black contrasts and rose gold elements to create a distinct visual tone.
The seats are a combination of black nappa leather on the seat cushions and dark-blue elements on the backrests, with blue nappa leather being utilised for the armrests, all highlighted with rose gold topstitching.
Other distinct design features include the Midnight Blue leather look of the dashboard as well as the coloured styling elements of the frame components – that on the infotainment and sound system gets dressed in rose gold, while the touch pad and light switch feature dark chrome surrounds. and the air vents, in a shade called silver shadow. Tech novelties, meanwhile, include a MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system.

Too conventional design. If it’s an EV there won’t be a need for the front bay soon
At least they got a game changing van. Proton got none… Habisla Proton!
Ferrari never have a van… Habisla Ferrari? Do you have a few screws loose or something?
Front trunk to house climate control condenser and heating coils?
The whole world is moving towards EV now. Infact by 2035, the whole of Europe will be fully EV. not long more, that is 16 yrs time
Car companies not only have developed EV but are not increasing KM distance like this MPV concept.
In Malaysia, our Proton is going to be left behind. No EV and no Hybrid technology also which is a 14 yr old technology
I say again. It’s right in Proton waiting for mass production. And?
When the resident troll kept repeating the same BS spiels and Editor come to give the same replies back and forth until the troll cannot counter, so this is what he do? Downlike Editor’s comments? Pathetic!
Sure. And then you will come complain about the EV battery costing RM 130,000 to replace. Why should we believe a forked-tongue hypocrite?
