At the launch of the 2019 Races of Malaysia to be held on December 13 to 15, Malaysian MotoGP rider announced that he would be racing in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) as well as the Endurance World Championship (EWC) 8 Hours of Sepang motorcycle race. The two races will be held on consecutive days at Sepang International Circuit (SIC), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and Hafizh will be the only racer competing in both classes.
The Races of Malaysia weekend has been included into the calendar of events for Visit Malaysia 2020 under the umbrella of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. “The support from Tourism Malaysia goes a long way in ensuring that Malaysia stands out as the main destination for motorsports in the region,” said Datuk Razlan Razali, chief executive officer of SIC.
Aside from Hafizh, other racers include fellow Malaysians Mitchell Cheah and Douglas Khoo who will be competing in WTCR on the weekend. Hafizh will be joined by other racers from racing classes held under Eurosport Events but no decision has been made as yet.
It was recently announced Hafizh would not be riding for Red Bull KTM Tech3 in 2020 nut it is not confirmed if he will be making a move to EWC or WTCR. However, our source inside SIC has confirmed that Hafizh’ future in two-wheeled motorsport in MotoGP and in conjunction with Petronas Racing will be decided at a meeting to be held tomorrow.

I smell a ‘rescue’ is coming. I would prefer if he could get his mojo back in EWC, and try his best to prove himself to would be suitors for MotoGP 2020.
I want petronas to offer him a ride on his merit, not because of have too. To malaysians, yes, hafizh is the best we have. And he is international. But he is not in the world level yet. Close but not there.
Agreed. He should earn it based on merit and what better way than bouncing back in EWC. He shouldn’t get the seat just because he is Malaysian.
Dude… You ask Marquez to ride hafiz’s machine….. Let see if Marquez can be a champion?? Yeah… No excuse… But apparently it was because of his machine.. Give him the right machine… One more chance.. If still no result.. Then bye bye… Oh come on.. Don’t be mean because he is from this race.. So already punish
Pol Espargaro is in top 10
Zarco, Oliviera, Rabat are in to 20
No excuses dude.
terbaik. Kipidap brudder Hafizh!
Hafizh is just like any other racers out there, with abundance of potential. What race team wants is quick results hence he becomes the victim of sort. But again, he should be promoting himself amongst the racing team and find suitors on his merit. If Sepang Racing is to consider him, it should also be on merit basis as the current riders are good enough.
