Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series, gorgeous Nori Green

This post isn’t the most newsworthy, but it does have the gorgeous Lexus LC 500 made even prettier by an unexpected new colour. That makes it worthy. Open the images in new tabs and take it in, the 2020 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series in Nori Green Pearl.

The Inspiration Series is a limited edition of 100 units for the US market, where it will go on sale later this year. Lexus says that this LE blends the sensational lines of the LC 500 with a classic colour palette, and their aim was to evoke a more refined, mature coupe.

The transformation starts with its distinctive Nori Green Pearl paint, an exclusive Inspiration Series colour for the LC. Subtle in its depth of colour, yet eye catching at a glance, is how Lexus describes the new hue. A set of 21-inch, two-tone wheels complete the look. We’re used to seeing Lexus’ flagship coupe in red; that’s striking, but this is really classy.

The interior of the LC Inspiration Series is done in a two-tone colour scheme that highlights its unique design and craftsmanship. The 10-way power adjustable seats are trimmed in aniline leather, which is of course the softest and highest-grade leather available in the Lexus catalogue.

The Bespoke Saddle Tan colour is unique to the Inspiration Series and is complemented by a slightly darker shade of Alcantara trim on the door panels. In contrast with the tan seats, dark Black Amber leather is used on the steering wheel, dashboard, center console and doors. Brown stitching ties the darker hide together with the seats in addition to highlighting the precision of the stitch.

The finishing touch is a custom sill plate that marks the limited edition. The laser cut plates evoke the the geometric shapes found in the LC’s rear brake lights.

There are no mechanical changes. The LC 500 is powered by a 5.0 litre naturally-aspirated V8, as seen on the RC F and GS F. The VVT-i and D-4S direct injection-equipped mill can switch between Atkinson and regular Otto cycles and offers 470 hp and 540 Nm of torque.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Direct Shift 10-speed automatic transmission with AI Shift, and there’s a limited-slip diff in there. The 0-100 km/h dash is done in 4.4 seconds and top speed is 270 km/h. Priced at a Myvi under RM1 million in Malaysia, the regular LC is a mega money bargain, if there’s such a thing.

Lexus has been experimenting with colours with the LC. Recent specials include the “Matte Prototype” and the “Luster Yellow” limited edition for Japan.
