Lexus LC “Luster Yellow” – limited edition for Japan

The Lexus LC flagship coupe has a thing for the colour yellow, so it seems – a Yellow Edition arrived for the European market last August, and an Inspiration Series example more recently joined the marque’s line-up at the SEMA show in Las Vegas – in both instances, the car was finished in Flare Yellow paintwork, albeit differing from the European launch car in interior trim.

Enter the Luster Yellow edition, which will be offered for a limited run in Japan. Limited by time rather than number of units, the Luster Yellow edition will be available at dealerships in Japan from October 31 until December 31. The exact name of the new hue is Naples Yellow, which is actually a different name for the same Flare Yellow on the preceding two examples.

The exterior colour is echoed inside the car with bright yellow door panels, while yellow stitching feature along the seats, dashboard, central armrest, steering wheel and gearlever. The headliner, sun visors, pillars, and parcel shelf are trimmed in Alcantara, while the door sills feature carbon-fibre reinforced plastic scuff plates.

The Luster Yellow package is offered for both the LC 500 and the LC 500h, meaning it can be specified with either the 471 hp/540 Nm 5.0 litre naturally aspirated V8 paired to a 10-speed automatic, or the 3.5 litre V6 hybrid with 354 hp in total system output, sent to the wheels via a four-speed automatic that is able to simulate the feel of a 10-speed unit.

Opting for the free-breathing bent-eight will set the buyer back 14,350,000 Japanese Yen (RM531,178), or if petrol-electric conveyance is more your thing, the hybrid is tagged at 14,850,000 Japanese Yen (RM549,692) in Japan. Bright enough a colour for this car, dear readers?
