Goodyear Assurance DuraPlus 2; 13″ – 16″, fr RM136

The Goodyear Assurance DuraPlus range of tyres has now been updated with the new Assurance DuraPlus 2, with TredLife technology that aims to provide longer mileage and improved durability. The Assurance DuraPlus 2 tyres are capable of tread life of up to 110,000 km without compromising on safety and performance, says Goodyear, and the new tyres feature a reformulated compound.

“This tyre features some of our latest advancements, for example, an innovative tread pattern and re-formulated compound to offer extended tread life, optimum grip, and minimal road noise for absolute peace of mind,” said managing director of Goodyear Malaysia Alex Ng.

The Assurance DuraPlus 2 tyre features a symmetric tread design with larger tread width, allowing a greater surface area to be in contact with the road surface as well as enabling a higher level of flexibility for rotation in the event of uneven wear, according to Goodyear.

An enhanced cavity shape also provides a more squared and balanced footprint to more evenly distribute contact pressure for better treadwear mileage. Narrow lateral grooves on the tyre help reduce road noise caused by air pumping, and noise is further reduced by rubber strips placed between ply and liner to further dampen vibrations, it added.

The tyre’s compound formula has also been enhanced, resulting in significantly improved tensile strength and wear resistance, according to Goodyear. This revised compound is used not just on throughout the tread, but also along the sidewall to improve long-term resistance to damage from environmental factors. The use of at least two layers of high-modulus, low-shrinkage plies in the sidewall adds resistance to external impacts.

The Goodyear Assurance DuraPlus 2 range of tyres is now available at all Goodyear AutoCare centres across Malaysia, and is available in sizes from 13 to 16 inches in diameter, retailing from RM136 to RM293.
