REVIEW: 2019 Porsche Macan in Malaysia – fr RM455k

The Porsche Macan is undoubtedly the brand’s most popular model today, outselling every other Porsche model in nearly every market. After being around since 2014, the first-generation model finally gets a facelift, and it’s priced from RM455k.

Updates include new LED headlights and LED tail lights, reprofiled front and rear bumpers, new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) that comes with the latest 10.9-inch touchscreen display (replaces the older 7.2-inch screen), and redesigned air-con vents.

For the first time, the Macan now gets the Premium Package as standard, which includes 14-way power-adjustable front seats with memory function, Power Steering Plus Park Assist, self-dimming mirrors, a Bose sound system as well as ambient lighting.

Under the bonnet, it’s powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol making 252 PS and 370 Nm of torque, channeled to all four wheels (standard) via a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h. How is it like to drive? Find out in our video review, above.

If someone can afford to buy a brand new Porsche, they don’t need your advise to buy a Proton. Go figure! ;)

It’s actually a Volkswagen Tiguan/ Audi Q3 with a VW group sourced 2.0l Turbo engine, no? Except for PDK transmission and some slightly more premium interior parts, question is how many people willing to pay RM200,000 more…

Matthew is a good presenter. Just the teeth bracelets are ugly to watch.

I only like Land Rover Discovery. All others look like copycats.
