SPIED: Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo seen on test

The long-roofed version of the Porsche Taycan has been spotted road-testing, and as with the Panamera Sport Turismo, the German marque’s fully electric model looks to offer more interior space with the Taycan Sport Turismo, to the benefit of luggage capacity as well as rear passenger headroom.

The Taycan Sport Turismo is likely to mirror the electric powertrain configuration and outputs from the Taycan, namely the dual motor, all-wheel-drive layouts with 680 PS/850 Nm and 761 PS/1,050 Nm in the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S, respectively. Likewise, the battery packs can be expected to be carried over to the load-lugging version of the Taycan, which features a 83.4 kWh capacity in the Turbo and the Turbo S.

Similarly, the Taycan Sport Turismo could also feature the 79.2 kWh in the battery pack which is present in the Taycan 4S, which like its more senior siblings, transmits drive to all four wheels via two motors, including a two-speed transmission on the rear axle in all cases. Provided that powertrain outputs are identical, we can expect the Taycan Sport Turismo to boast performance figures just slightly behind those of the Taycan.

The unit seen here wears wheels from the range-topping Taycan Turbo S, and despite the bodywork camouflage, the front end of the Sport Turismo is likely to be nearly, if not identical to that of the Taycan. Crease lines along the sides and the glasshouse appear to be similar to the Taycan’s, with the key changes beginning from the C-pillar rearwards for its station wagon design brief.

As with earlier Taycan development vehicles, the Sport Turismo mule here appears to have quad ‘exhaust pipe’ outlets, which have not carried over to the production Taycan. As such, a similar omission can be expected when the Taycan Sport Turismo makes its eventual debut.

Most of the Sport Turismo’s interior equipment and dashboard architecture can also be expected to mirror those on the Taycan, just as those on the Panamera Sport Turismo echoes the layout in the Panamera. The Taycan Sport Turismo could also carry over the upholstery options from the Taycan, chiefly the fully leather-free material which made its debut in the firm’s first pure EV.
