PayNet, ALR launch Sentuhan Ihklas CSR – toll fare payment using MyDebit will support B40 families

Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat (ALR), in partnership with Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) has launched Sentuhan Ikhlas, a corporate social responsibility programme that brings the opportunity for each toll payment transaction to contribute towards supporting B40 demographic families in Malaysia.

This initiative enables motorists using the Kesas, Sprint, LDP and Smart highways under the operator’s management to easily make contributions at any of the 152 MyDebit-enabled toll plaza lanes.

The campaign aims to release RM500,000 in total to the MyKasih Foundation upon reaching five million MyDebit transactions within a two-month period. Each MyDebit transaction made at a toll booth at highways under ALR will contribute to this goal, where PayNet will contribute funds to the MyKasih Foundation each time a motorist pays for toll fare using this method.

The sum of RM500,000 will enable 1,000 low-income families in Malaysia to purchase food and household essentials with the use of their MyKad, according to the joint release by ALR and PayNet. Funds will be released in phases, with RM100,000 released after one million transactions, RM150,000 after 1.5 million transactions, and RM250,000 upon reaching five million transactions.

“Each MyDebit payment at our tolls represents a small act of kindness that, together, makes impact on the lives of many. We hope this inspires more motorists to join us in helping fellow Malaysians in need,” said ALR group CEO Sazally bin Saidi.

The use of MyDebit as a transaction method promises security with bank-level encryption including built-in fraud detection systems, and the convenience of quick and easy toll fare payments without the need to reload a pre-paid electronic wallet.

“PayNet is excited to see MyDebit being integrated into daily motoring while making a positive impact on underserved communities. Furthermore, we hope that MyDebit continues to enhance convenience for motorists, simplifies toll payment while contributing to a meaningful cause. Through Sentuhan Ikhlas, every MyDebit transaction is an opportunity for all parties to drive positive impact,” said PayNet commercial division senior director Azrul Fakhzan bin Mainor.
